Knitting set - hat and scarf

DESCRIPTION OF THE PATTERN FOR BEGINNING TO KNIT A HAT AND SCARF: 

USE A DOUBLE THREAD. 

The number of stitches must be a multiple of 2. The edge stitches are not included in the description. 

Row 1: [1 knit stitch, make a double yarn over (wrap the working yarn around the right needle 2 times) and slip the next stitch purlwise.] repeat until the end of the row. 

Row 2: [Knit the first stitch (the slipped stitch from the previous row), transfer the yarn over from the left needle to the right without knitting (the yarn over unravels, resulting in 1 long yarn over), 1 knit stitch] repeat until the end of the row. 

Row 3: [1 knit stitch, slip the next stitch with a yarn over (this stitch will have 2 yarn overs)] repeat until the end of the row. 

Row 4: [Knit 1 stitch with two yarn overs, 1 knit stitch] repeat until the end of the row. 

From Row 5, do everything in a checkerboard pattern: 

Row 5: [Make a yarn over, double yarn over, and slip the next stitch purlwise, 1 knit stitch.] repeat until the end of the row. 

Row 6: [1 knit stitch, knit 1 stitch (the slipped stitch from the previous row), transfer the yarn over from the left needle to the right without knitting (the yarn over becomes elongated)] repeat until the end of the row. 

Row 7: [Slip the stitch with a yarn over (this stitch will have 2 yarn overs), 1 knit stitch.] repeat until the end of the row. 

Row 8: [1 knit stitch, knit 1 stitch with two yarn overs.] repeat until the end of the row. 

Repeat the pattern from Row 1.

PATTERN: ENGLISH RIB

In the first row, knit alternating one knit and one purl stitch. In the second row, after the slipped edge stitch, knit: one knit stitch, 1 straight yarn over, one purl stitch. Note: knit knit stitches over knit stitches (according to the pattern), purl stitches over purl stitches, and the yarn over between them. All subsequent rows (even and odd) are knitted the same way: make a yarn over, slip the knit stitch, and purl the purl stitch with a yarn over from the previous row.
