Circumference: 51-56 cm.
Materials: 100 g of HiKoobyskacelKenzi yarn (50% wool, 25% nylon, 10% alpaca, 50 g/146 m), set of double-pointed needles 3.5 and 4.0 mm.
Knitting density: 20 stitches*28 rows=10*10 cm stockinette stitch with 4.0 mm needles.
Stockinette stitch: purl on the front side, knit on the back side.
Description:
Transverse part: cast on 4 stitches with 3.5 mm needles.
Knit stockinette stitch for 75 rows.
Bind off stitches.
Sew the cast-on edge to the bound-off edge.
Check that the resulting ring fits snugly on the head.
Beret knitting instructions:
Cast on 78 stitches along the side of the transverse part from the back loop of the stitches with 4.0 mm needles.
Join into a ring.
Next row: *k1, (p2, purl the stitch 2 times) - repeat 4 times, continue from * for another 5 times = 102 stitches.
Continue knitting:
Row 1: *slip knit stitch without knitting, p16, repeat from * for another 5 times.
Row 2: *k1, p16, repeat from * for another 5 times.
Knit as established for 14 cm.
Next row: knit 2 together purlwise from each side.
Continue to decrease by knitting 2 together from each side in every second row until 18 stitches remain on the needles.
Next row: *k1, k2 together, repeat from * for another 5 times = 12 stitches.
Cut the yarn, pull the yarn through the remaining 12 stitches, tighten and secure on the wrong side.
BOW:
Cast on 26 stitches with 4.0 mm needles.
Knit stockinette stitch for 40 cm.
Bind off stitches.
Sew the cast-on edge to the bound-off edge.
BOW TAILS (knit 2 pieces):
Cast on 26 stitches with 4.0 mm needles.
Knit garter stitch for 4 rows.
Knit stockinette stitch for 8 cm.
Bind off stitches.
CENTER OF THE BOW:
Cast on 10 stitches with 4.0 mm needles.
Knit stockinette stitch for 8 cm.
Place the center on the main part of the bow, connect the cast-on edge to the bound-off edge, sew on the bow tails, sew the bow to the beret, as shown in the photo.
