Yarn: Gazzal Exclusive

For hat size 52–54, used 85 g (yarn held in 4 strands).

Composition:

• 10% kid mohair

• 40% merino, 19 microns

• 50% silk

Color: 9902
Length: 190 m in 25 g

Needles:

• No. 4.5 — for ribbing

• No. 5 — for the main fabric

3. Hat crown

Decrease is achieved by reducing stitches in the braids.

1 row:
We perform the crossing according to the pattern, but:
knit the first stitch, the next two — together knitwise, then again crossing — 2 together knitwise, 1 knit.
Thus, in each braid instead of 6 stitches there will remain 4.

2 row:
Knit following the pattern.

3 row:
In the braids knit 2 together knitwise with a right-leaning slant and 2 together knitwise with a left-leaning slant.
In each braid there remain 2 stitches instead of 4.

4 row:
Knit following the pattern.

5 row:
In the braids knit 2 together knitwise with a right-leaning twist.
In each braid there remains 1 stitch.

6 row:
Knit following the pattern.

7 row:
Purl the stitch remaining from the braid, and the two neighboring purl stitches together — 3 together purlwise.

Thereafter, pull the remaining stitches tight with the yarn in the round.

Stitch crossings:

• Cross 3 stitches to the right: slip 2 stitches and hold them behind the work, knit the 3rd stitch, then knit the two slipped stitches.

• Cross 3 stitches to the left: slip 1 stitch and hold in front of the work, knit 2 stitches, then knit the slipped stitch.

• How to knit the pattern

  1. Switch to knitting the main pattern — 12 cables according to the chart.

  2. Knit to the desired height (in the example — 24 crossings before the decreases at the crown).
