DESCRIPTION OF DRESS KNITTING
Back. Using 4mm needles, cast on 135(153, 177) stitches. Knit ribbing 1x1 for one row.
Then:
Row (wrong side) 1 knit stitch (edge stitch), then knit raised bobbles on the next 19(19, 31) stitches, (1 knit, 1 purl) twice, 1 knit, *knit raised bobbles on 25(31,31) stitches, (1 knit, 1 purl) twice, 1 knit, repeat from * twice, 19 stitches raised bobbles, 1 knit (edge stitch). Continue knitting until the length of the fabric is 40.5 cm from the beginning, finishing with the 7th row of the pattern. Then, knit one row of purl stitches, evenly decreasing 59(65,77) stitches to 76(88, 100) stitches. Switch to 3.5 mm needles and knit ribbing 2x2 for 12.5 cm. At the end, increase evenly in the last row (wrong side of knitting) by 19 stitches. You will have 95(107,119 stitches). Switch to 4 mm needles. Then, knit 16 (19, 22) stitches in garter stitch, (1 purl, 1 knit) twice, 55(61,67) stitches raised bobbles, (1 knit, 1 purl) twice, 16(19,22) stitches in garter stitch. Continue until the fabric reaches 70.5, finishing with the 8th row of the raised bobbles pattern.
Armhole shaping.
Decrease 2 stitches on each side, knitting 3 together, then make the same decreases 0(3,6) times in each subsequent row. Then decrease 1 stitch on each side in each subsequent row 30(29, 28) times. Bind off the remaining 31, (33,35) stitches for the neckline.
Knit the front of the dress the same as the back until 59 cm.
Armhole and neckline shaping. (right side of knitting) knit according to the pattern until the center, close the central stitch, then make decreases simultaneously from both sides, 1 stitch (every second row - once, every 4th row - once) repeat 10(11,12) times, then every second row 5(4,3) times. Simultaneously, at a height of 7.5 cm make decreases for the armholes on each side, knitting 3 together, then make the same decreases 0(3,6) times in each subsequent row. Then decrease 1 stitch on each side in each subsequent row 18(17,16) times. After all decreases, bind off the remaining 2 stitches on both sides.
Left sleeve Using 3.75 mm needles, cast on 61(65/69) stitches, knit ribbing 1x1 for 2 cm, evenly increase 26(26/28) stitches in the last row of ribbing = 87(91/97) stitches
Then distribute the stitches as follows
1st row (right side) 25 (27, 27) stitches in garter stitch, 1 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit, 31(31,37) stitches raised bobbles, 1 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit 25(27,27) stitches in garter stitch, continue until the fabric reaches 23 cm from the beginning of knitting.
Sleeve cap. Decrease 2 stitches on each side, (then one more time only for the large size), then decrease 1 stitch in each subsequent row 18 (20,21) times, leaving 47 stitches. Continue decreasing one stitch for the back of the armhole, at the beginning of the right side row 12 times, simultaneously, bind off from the front side of the sleeve cap (in the purl rows) 3 stitches 11 times, 2 stitches once.
Knit the right sleeve of the dress the same as the left.
Assembly Sew the raglans, side seams, and sleeves. From the right side, crochet a single crochet around the neckline.
Look carefully at the ribbing at the waist, it is wider in the front than on the sides, as regular knitting pulls in the "bobbles" of the product. Over time this evens out, but initially, it pulls, so the ribbing was made wider to "even out" the fabric.

Pattern "Rosehip" — description

📘 Legend (to the right of the chart):

Symbol on the chart Meaning
1 purl stitch
(triangle) 3 stitches knit together purlwise
U From 1 stitch create 3 stitches: 1 knit, 1 yarn over, 1 knit

📏 Chart:

  • MS (Rapport/Motif) — consists of 4 stitches in width and 6 rows in height

  • The chart is read from bottom to top, right side rows — from right to left

  • Purl rows are knitted according to the pattern (all stitches according to their appearance, yarn overs — purl stitches)

🔄 Pattern repeat (4 stitches x 6 rows):

✍️ Step-by-step description:

1st row (right side):
1 purl, from 1 stitch create 3 stitches (1 knit, 1 yarn over, 1 knit), 1 purl.

3rd row:
3 stitches together purlwise, 1 purl, from 1 stitch create 3 stitches, 1 purl.

5th row:
1 purl, 3 stitches together purlwise, 1 purl, from 1 stitch create 3 stitches.

(and so on)

All even rows: knit according to the pattern.

🧵 Visual effect:

The fabric creates relief "bobbles" resembling berries or rosebud buds. The pattern is dense and holds its shape well.
