Size 34-38 (European)

You will need a lining dress.

Density: 32 stitches x 35 rows in 10cm²

All sizes are given in cm.

Final measurements: 106cm in bust, length 80cm.

Needles 2.5mm (straight and circular).

Yarn: Hasegawa Corporation KARIN Light Fingering / 3 ply 100% silk 320m/50g – 200g for the dress. If you want to make the dress longer by ~20cm, use 250g of yarn.

The dress is very elastic and will fit sizes 34-38 or larger.

The dress is knitted from top to bottom on circular needles.

  O - yarn over.

  / or \ - knit 2 stitches together leaning right/left.

^ 3 sts knit together: slip 1 st as if to knit, knit the next 2 sts together and pull through the slipped st.

I planned to use only 200g of yarn for the dress, so I started with the ruffles, then knitted the yoke and sleeves, and used the remaining yarn for the body.

Bottom ruffle. Cast on 22 stitches and knit according to the “Frill chart” for 800 rows, repeating it 200 times. The dress has 400 stitches at the bottom, so each bottom stitch corresponds to 2 rows of ruffle.

Sew the first and last row of the ruffle together, making sure it does not twist.

For the sleeve ruffle, cast on 22 stitches and knit 240 rows. The sleeves have 120 stitches at the bottom, so each bottom stitch of the sleeve corresponds to 2 rows of ruffle.

Sew the first and last row of the ruffle together, making sure it does not twist. Knit the second ruffle.

Dress

Cast on 280 stitches with waste yarn and knit 1 row, then knit 8 rows in stockinette (the first 4 rows should be folded back, and the live stitches should be sewn to the stitches of the 8th row and elastic inserted into the casing). Mark the beginning of the round and start knitting the yoke, repeating the chart 20 times around:

Knit 69 rows and divide the yoke into sleeves, back, and front: the first 80 stitches – right sleeve, then 120 stitches – front, the next 80 stitches – left sleeve, and the last 120 stitches – back.

Knit the first 80 stitches of the right sleeve according to row 70, cast on 40 additional stitches and continue knitting 120 stitches of the right sleeve in the round until row 86. Then knit 8 more rows, fold the last 4 rows, and sew the live stitches to the stitches of row 86.

Then knit the left sleeve in the same way, also casting on the missing 40 stitches.

Body.

So you have 120 stitches for the back and front and 40 stitches between them from the sleeves = 320 stitches. The first stitch of the back is stitch #1 on the “body chart1”. Knit, repeating it 16 times:

  (563x550, 232Kb)

Then knit according to the “body chart2”, repeating it 20 times around. If you want to knit the dress longer, continue knitting after row 130. I knitted all 171 rows, but I was not satisfied with the length of the dress, so I shortened it to row 130.

When you finish the body of the dress, sew the ruffles to the bottom of the dress and sleeves, insert elastic into the neckline and sleeves, and enjoy your dress!
