Every mother wants to dress her child in a way that makes them look like a little doll, especially when it comes to girls. Let's knit a luxurious white coat for our little girl (1.5-2 years old), size 86-92 cm.For this, we will need:

White yarn (80%-wool, 20%-polyamide; 200m/100g); white fleece for lining – a piece of 1.45m x 1m; large buttons – 4 pcs; a little chocolate-colored velvet ribbon; hook No. 3, needles No. 2; needles No. 3.

1. Ribbing: alternate 2 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches. Knit according to the pattern on the reverse side.

2. "Garter stitch": Knit all rows in knit stitches.

3. "Checkerboard pattern": follow pattern 1.

4. "Rice pattern" is executed as follows: 1 knit, 1 purl – alternate for rows 1 and 3, as well as all subsequent odd rows. For the even rows, knit all knit stitches as purl and all purl stitches as knit.

5. "Cable pattern" is knitted according to pattern 2.

6. "Braid" and "medallion" patterns are executed according to patterns 3 and 4, respectively.

For the back:  cast on 98 stitches with needles No. 2.5, which includes 2 edge stitches and 96 main stitches. Then knit 11 rows in ribbing. Next, switch to needles No. 3, knit 4 rows in garter stitch. After that, knit 9 rows in the checkerboard pattern – we get three squares in height. Then knit as follows: 3 rows – garter stitch, 12 rows – rice, 4 rows – garter stitch. Then knit 7 rows in stockinette stitch, while making increases in the last purl row. Next, execute the cable pattern for three repeats. In the last purl row, make decreases – knit every 4th and 5th stitch together. Then knit the braid pattern for 4 repeats and move on to the medallion pattern. After starting the medallions, decreases for the armholes need to be made: decrease 4 stitches once, and 2 stitches 4 times in every second row (a total of 12 stitches). Then knit two repeats of the medallion pattern, knit 4 rows in garter stitch, then knit rice. After 16 cm from the start of closing stitches, close the middle 18 stitches, and in the following knit row, close 8 stitches from each side. After 18 cm from the start of closing stitches, close the remaining 20 stitches for the right and left shoulder. The back is ready. By the way, the trapezoidal shape is achieved solely due to the patterns, no decreases need to be made at the sides.

Right front of the coat:  cast on 60 stitches with needles No. 2.5 (that is: 48 stitches + 10 for the placket + 2 edge stitches). All necessary patterns are executed on the 48 stitches, while on the outer 10 stitches, we continuously knit the placket in garter stitch.

For 48 stitches + 2 edge stitches, knit ribbing for 11 rows. Then switch to needles No. 3 and knit 4 rows in garter stitch. After that, knit the checkerboard pattern for 9 rows (which gives three squares in height). After that, proceed as follows: 3 rows – garter stitch, 12 rows – rice, 4 rows – garter stitch. Then knit 7 rows of stockinette stitch and in the last purl row, make increases by drawing a twisted purl stitch between the stitches after every 4th stitch. Next, knit the cable pattern for 3 repeats. In the last purl row, make decreases – knit the 4th and 5th stitches together as purl. Then knit the braid pattern – 4 repeats, and proceed to the medallions. After starting the medallion pattern – begin decreases for the armholes – 1 time *4 stitches, 4 times *2 stitches in every second row (a total of 12 stitches). Knit 2 repeats of the medallion pattern, then knit 4 rows in garter stitch, then knit rice.

Then, after 13 cm from the start of closing stitches, close for the neck of the coat, starting from the left in every second row – 10 stitches for the placket, then 1 time *4 stitches, 2 times *3 stitches, and 4 times 2 stitches. Then, after 12 cm from the start of closing stitches, close the remaining 20 stitches for the shoulder. The right front is ready; the left one is knitted in the same way, symmetrically.

Sleeve of the coat:  cast on 44 stitches with needles No. 2.5, that is 42 stitches + 2 edge stitches. Knit ribbing for 17 rows, switch to needles No. 3 in the last purl row, make increases - draw a twisted purl between stitches after every fourth stitch. Then knit the cable pattern for 2 repeats. After that, knit the braid pattern for 2 repeats and proceed to the medallions. After the ribbing, make increases on the sides by one stitch in every fifth row.

Next, after starting the medallion pattern, make increases on the sides – 1 stitch on each side in every third row. Thus, after knitting one repeat of the medallions (resulting in 74 stitches), we start forming the rounded cap for the sleeve. For this, in every second row, make decreases on the sides – 1 time *5 stitches, 3 times *4 stitches, 4 times *3 stitches, 4 times *2 stitches, 1 time *5 stitches, then close the remaining 10 stitches.

The second sleeve is knitted in the same way.

For the hood:  cast on 44 stitches with needles No. 3 (32 + 10 for the placket + 2 edge stitches). The patterns are executed on 32 stitches, while the 10 stitches for the placket are always in garter stitch. For 32 stitches + 2 edge stitches, knit rice for 12 rows, while simultaneously making increases on the left in every second row – 1 time *3 stitches, 3 times *1 stitch. Then knit the checkerboard pattern for 12 rows, 2 rows in garter stitch, and then continue with rice – 8 rows. After that, switch to the medallion pattern – knit 2 repeats. Then knit 8 rows in rice, and in the following eight rows, make symmetrical decreases on the left in every second row – 3 times *1 stitch, 1 time *3 stitches. Then make the symmetrical part of the hood. Knit 16 rows in the rice pattern. At the same time, make increases on the left in every second row – 1 time *3 stitches, 3 times *1 stitch. Then knit the medallion pattern for 2 repeats. After that, continue with rice for 8 rows, 2 rows in garter stitch, and the checkerboard pattern for 12 rows. Then knit 6 rows in the rice pattern and in the subsequent six rows, make symmetrical decreases in every second row – 3 times *1 stitch, 1 time *3 stitches.

Lining.  Before starting it, all knitted parts of the coat should be washed in a wool cycle at 30 degrees. Dry everything on a towel on a flat surface and steam with an iron. Next, place all our pieces on a sheet of paper and carefully trace them, taking into account the folds of the lining. The lining should be shorter than the entire product by the width of the ribbing. Sew all the lining pieces together and attach them to the coat, starting from the middle fold of the hood.

Make pockets and loops.

Cast on 28 stitches. Knit the cable pattern for 2 repeats and 5 rows – stockinette stitch. Thus, make two pieces (pockets).

For the loops – cast on 24 stitches with a hook, and single crochet them. We will need 8 of these pieces. For four pieces, sew the ends with white thread – resulting in a loop. Thread the remaining strips through the button and sew the ends. Assembly:  make all seams of the knitted parts. Decorate the pockets with bows made of velvet ribbon. Next, carefully baste the fleece lining. Sew the loops and buttons to the plackets, and attach the velvet ribbon bow to the hood.

All stylish, comfortable, and most importantly, warm coat of festive white color for your little fashionista is ready.
