HOW TO HIDE THREADS ALONG THE EDGES OF KNITTING Are you familiar with the problem of how to hide the threads along the edges of knitting? Look at the step-by-step photo using the example of a striped scarf. Below, you can see the tutorial and step-by-step photo. So, we are knitting a scarf with stripes of two colors: gray and pink. We simply slip the first stitch of the new row. We knit the second stitch with both threads. This is how we introduced the pink yarn. The remaining row is knitted only with the working (pink) yarn. Then we knit the second row also with only the working yarn. But we stop before completing 2 stitches. The non-working (gray) yarn should be in front, as in the photo below. Then it needs to be moved back. The yarns should be positioned as shown in the photo below. Next, we knit one more stitch, as usual, only with the pink yarn (knit stitch). When knitting the last stitch of the row, you need to press the non-working yarn against the working yarn to the fabric. For this, the yarns need to be crossed, with the non-working yarn above the working yarn, as shown in the photo below. Then we knit the last stitch (which is always a purl stitch) only with the working yarn. We turn the knitting around and see this picture. We move the non-working yarn back so that the yarns are positioned like this. Then we cross the yarns again, as before, and knit the stitch with the working yarn again. You need to hide the non-working yarn this way every time you knit stitches at the edge of the knitting where the color transition occurs. As a result, the edge looks like this. Thus, the thread is as if inside the fabric, not on the edge. Of course, the thread does not hide perfectly, but it is quite inconspicuous. And most importantly - there are only 4 ends.
