Modern style cardigan

For knitting, you will need: 1050 g of blue yarn Music Style Collection ROCK (80% wool, 15% nylon, 5% metallic polyester, 47.5 m/50 g), size 9 needles, size 5 and 9 hooks. Size: 36-40

Patterns used in knitting the cardigan.

Main pattern: knit according to chart 1, purl in the purl rows, knit according to pattern, yarn overs – purl.

Pattern for the band (width 4 sts): knit according to chart 2, in the purl rows knit according to pattern.

Pattern for the collar: knit according to chart 3.

Braid: 3 sc, 1 "picot" (3 ch, 1 sc in the 1st ch).

Gauge: Main pattern: 10 sts x 11 rows = 10 x 10 cm; collar pattern: 9 sts x 13 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back: for each diamond (start separately) cast on 3 sts on size 9 needles and knit in the main pattern, making the lower edge according to chart. After 58 cm from the start of knitting, bind off 5 sts on both sides for armholes (42 sts remain). After 17 cm from the start of the armhole, bind off the middle 28 sts for the neck opening and finish both sides separately. After 80 cm from the start of knitting, bind off the remaining 7 sts.

Left front: for each diamond (start separately) cast on 3 sts on size 9 needles and knit in the main pattern, making the lower edge according to chart, while on the left side knit 4 sts in the band pattern. After 33 cm from the start of the work, bind off 1 st 14 times in each row for the neckline slope on the left side. Make the armhole on the right side as on the back. After 80 cm from the start of knitting, bind off the remaining 7 sts.

Right front: knit symmetrically.

Sleeves: cast on 22 sts on size 9 needles and knit in the main pattern, making the lower edge according to chart. For the sleeves slope, increase 6 sts on both sides in every 8th row (= 34 sts). After 45 cm from the start of knitting, bind off 3 sts on both sides for the sleeve cap and in every 2nd row bind off 1 st 9 times, 2 sts once. After 62 cm from the start of knitting, bind off the remaining 6 sts.

Assembly of knitted parts: sew the shoulder seams; set in the sleeves, sew the side seams and sleeve seams. Crochet the neck opening with size 5 hook 1 row of sc. Crochet the bands with size 9 hook 1 row of sl st. For the collar, cast on 34 sts along the back neck and knit with the collar pattern, including 8 x 5 sts from the fronts at the end of each row (=114 sts).

Knit 10 rows, then symmetrically decrease 8 x 5 sts. Join the remaining 34 sts to the 1st row of the collar. Crochet the lower edge and sleeves with size 5 hook with a border (some "picots" should coincide with each peak of the diamonds). For ties, crochet 2 flat cords with size 9 hook and attach them to the collar.
