SSh (knit a "bobble"): (1 knit, 1 purl) 2 times, turn, slip 2 sts, knit 2 sts together knitwise, pull the 2 slipped sts over the knitted ones.
Patterns: knit according to charts 1 and 2.
When working the pattern on the main part, if there are not enough stitches to complete the "cables" pattern, knit those stitches in reverse stockinette or include them in the background pattern framing the "cables".
Back. Cast on 107* (122) sts on size 5 needles. Knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch. Continue knitting, distributing the stitches as follows: 1st row (right side): 1-(0) purl, starting from the 1st-(3rd) st, knit to the end of the pattern repeat according to the chart, knit the 21st st of the repeat 4-(5) more times, finish the last repeat on the 21st-(19th) st, 1-(0) purl. Continue in this manner until reaching a height of 28-(30.5) cm from the beginning, finishing 20-(26) rows of the chart.
Armholes. Bind off 4-(6) sts at the beginning of the next 4 rows, 4-(7) sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows = 83-(84) sts. Knit straight for another 22-(26) rows. Place the stitches on a spare thread and set aside.
Front. Knit as for the back.
Sleeves. Cast on 53-(57) sts on size 5 needles, knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch. Then start working the pattern according to chart 2. Complete rows 1-18 of chart 2 once, then continue repeating rows 19-24 of chart 2 until the end of the work. Knit, distributing the stitches as follows: 1st row (right side): 15-(17) purl, knit 23 sts according to chart 2, 15-(17) purl. Continue in this manner, at the same time decreasing 1 st on both sides every 10th row 4 times = 45-(49) sts. Knit until reaching a height of 23 cm from the beginning. Then increase 1 st on both sides in the next row, then every 10th – (6th) row 3-(5) more times with 53-(61) sts. Knit straight until reaching a height of 40.5-(42) cm from the beginning. Then for the cap, bind off 3-(4) sts at the beginning of the next 6 rows. Knit 14 rows straight. Then decrease 1 st on both sides every 2nd row 3-(4) times. Place the remaining 29 sts on a spare thread or needle.
Assembly. Steam the pieces.
Sew the sleeves along the raglan lines. Sew the side seams and the underarm seams of the sleeves.
Neckline finishing. Place the back stitches from the spare thread onto two spare needles — 41 sts on the right and 42 sts on the left. Using circular needles, starting from the center of the back, knit the stitches from the spare threads or needles in a 1/1 ribbing (alternating 1 knit, 1 purl) as follows: 42 sts of the left back, 29 sts of the left sleeve, 83 sts of the front, 29 sts of the right sleeve, 41 sts of the right back = 224 sts. Place a marker (a contrasting thread) at the beginning/end of the round. Join the work in the round and knit in 1/1 ribbing for another 9 rows. Then knit 2 rounds in stockinette stitch. Next row: * knit 2 sts together knitwise, yarn over, repeat from * around. Knit 2 rows in stockinette and bind off the stitches.
Make a cord 127 cm long, thread it through the knitted holes in the neckline finishing and tie it in the center of the front.
