Knitting with needles and crochet
Sizes: 34/36, 38/40 and 42/44
Data for sizes 34/36 is given before the parentheses, for sizes 38/40 and 42/44 – in parentheses with a /, if there is only one number, it means it is suitable for all sizes.
For knitting a pullover you will need:
• 500 (550/600g) light green yarn (100% cotton, 100m/50g) ;
• needles No. 3.5 and No. 4;
• circular needles No. 4, 80-100cm long;
• hook No. 3.5.
Patterns for knitting the pullover:
Pattern “knots”: 1 knit, 1 purl, alternate.
Main pattern: 1 knit, 1 purl, alternate; shift the pattern every 2 rows.
Fancy pattern: see chart. Only the right-side rows are given, in the wrong rows knit the stitches as they appear. Repeat from row 1 to row 12.
Knitting density: with needles No. 4 main pattern – 22-23 sts. x 30 rows = 10x10cm.
DESCRIPTION
Back
Cast on 117 (125/137) sts. on needles No. 3.5, knit the first 3 rows in the “knots” pattern, starting with a wrong-side row as follows: edge stitch, knit, purl, etc. as per pattern, finish the row with a knit and edge stitch. Then knit with needles No. 4: edge stitch, 7 (9/13) sts. of the main pattern, *29 sts. of the fancy pattern, 7 (9/11) sts. of the main pattern, repeat from * 1 time, 29 sts. of the fancy pattern, 7 (9/13) sts. of the main pattern, edge stitch. At a height of the fabric 31 (33/31)cm, i.e. after 90 (96/90) rows, increase 1x1 st. on each side of the piece, then in every 4th row increase another 3x1 st. = 125 (133/145) sts. Include the added stitches in the main pattern. At a height of 37(39/37)cm, i.e. after 108 (114/108) rows, close for armholes on both sides, in every 2nd row 1x3 sts. and 2x1 st., set aside the remaining 115 (123/135) sts., the height of the piece is 39 (41/39)cm.

Front
Knit similarly to the back.
Sleeves
Cast on 81 (83/85) sts. on needles No. 3.5, knit the first 3 rows in the “knots” pattern, starting with a wrong-side row as follows: edge, knit, purl, etc. as per pattern, finish the row with knit and edge. Then knit with needles No. 4: edge, 7 sts. of the main pattern, 29 sts. of the fancy pattern, 7 (9/11) sts. of the main pattern, 29 sts. of the fancy pattern, 7 sts. of the main pattern, edge. To widen the sleeve at a height of 19 (18.5/11)cm, i.e. after 54 (52/30) rows of the fancy pattern add 1 st. on each side once, then in every 4th row 3x1 st. (5?1/9?1) = 89 (95/105) sts. Include the added stitches in the main pattern. At a height of 25(27/25)cm, i.e. after 72(78/72) rows, close for shaping the sleeve cap on both sides, in every 2nd row 1x3 sts. and 2x1 st., set aside the remaining 79 (85/95) sts. = 27 (29/27)cm. Knit the second sleeve similarly.
Yoke
Transfer to circular needles alternately the stitches of the back, sleeves, front, second sleeve, knitting 3 stitches together at each transition between pieces = 380 (408/452) sts. Then knit in the round, decreasing 2 sts. at each transition between pieces, totaling 4 decreases of 2 sts. = minus 8 sts. = 372 (400/444) sts. Make decreases in every 2nd row another 14 (17/20) times = 260 (264/284) sts. At the same time, at a height of 45 (49/49)cm, after 132 (144/144) rows, set aside for the neckline the middle 49 sts., knit the rest as per pattern. At the end of each row, add to the set aside stitches 2x7 sts., 1x5 sts., 1x4 sts. and 1x3 sts., make a yarn over and turn the work in the opposite direction. Then knit 1 row knit, including the set aside stitches, knitting the yarn overs together with the next stitch on the front half, and after the front half with crossed knits together with the stitch in front of the yarn over. Knit 1 row purl, making decreases: 56?2 (60?2/68?2) = 204 (204/216) sts. Knit another row purl, then close the stitches, knitting them knit.
Assembly
Lay the piece flat and leave under a damp cloth until completely dry. Sew the sleeves and close the side seams. Crochet the neckline according to the scheme, starting from the arrow, finishing each row. After the 6th row, knit another row of single crochets and one row of “crab stitch” (single crochets from left to right), finish the work.
