DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK:
Back. On size 5 needles, cast on 79 sts and knit 3 cm in ribbing, ending with 1 knit st, selvedge. Switch to size 5.5 needles and knit in lace pattern starting with the middle 7 sts using short rows and increasing by 3 sts on both sides every 2nd row. After 42 cm from the start, bind off for armholes 1 x 3 sts on both sides and in every 2nd row bind off 1 x 2 sts, 2 x 1 st and in the next 4th row bind off 1 x 1 st = 63 sts. After 62 cm from the start, bind off for shoulder slopes 1 x 5 sts on both sides and in every 2nd row 3 x 5 sts. After 64 cm from the start, bind off the middle 23 sts for the neckline and continue knitting separately.
Front. On size 5 needles, cast on 77 sts, knit 3 cm in ribbing. Switch to size 5.5 needles and knit in stockinette stitch. After 29 cm from the start, bind off for armholes 1 x 3 sts on both sides, in every 2nd row 1 x 2 sts, 2 x 1 st, in the 4th row 1 x 1 st = 61 sts. After 36 cm from the start, place the middle st for the V-neck and continue knitting separately, binding off 4 x 1 st at the edges of the neckline every 2nd row and 6 x 1 st in every 4th row. After 49 cm from the start, for shoulder slopes, bind off 1 x 5 sts on both sides and in every 2nd row 3 x 5 sts.
Sleeves. On size 5 needles, cast on 40 sts, knit 3 cm in ribbing, switch to
size 5.5 needles and knit in stockinette stitch, increasing 3 x 1 st on both sides
every 10th row and 5 x 1 st every 8th row = 56 sts. After 38 cm from the start,
for the sleeve cap, bind off 1 x 3 sts on both sides, in every 2nd row 1 x 2 sts,
2 x 1 st, in every 4th row 6 x 1 st and in every 2nd row 1 x 1 st, 1 x 2 sts and
1 x 3 sts = 16 sts. After 56 cm from the start, bind off the remaining 16 sts.
Finishing. Sew the shoulder seams. On size 5 needles, pick up an additional 123 sts along the neckline for the V-neck = 124 sts and knit 3 cm in ribbing, distributing the sts such that there is 1 knit st in the dip of the neckline, and making a double stitch in every round on the 3 sts of the neckline depth (slip 2 sts together as knit, 1 knit st and pull it through the slipped sts). Bind off the sts. Set in the sleeves. Sew the side seams and sleeve seams.
