You will need: 350 g of bright pink melange yarn Volta Tweed (100% sheep wool, 100 m/50 g); circular needles No. 6, 80 cm long.
Ribbing A: alternate 2 knit, 2 purl.
Ribbing B: alternate 2 purl, 2 knit.
Cable pattern: the number of stitches is a multiple of 24. Knit according to the chart. The chart shows only the right side rows; on the wrong side rows, knit the stitches as they appear or according to the instructions. Repeat = 24 st. Continuously repeat from rows 1 to 16.
Knitting gauge: cable pattern, circular needles No. 6: 17 st. and 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm.
Front and back: circular needles. For the yoke, cast on 80 stitches using a crosswise cast-on method and cast on (see page 29) 140 stitches and knit 18 cm in ribbing A. Then, increase for the slopes by evenly distributing 30 stitches = 170 stitches, closing in the round and knitting the cable pattern. After 24 cm = 58 rows from ribbing A, bind off 24 stitches on both sides for the armholes = 122 stitches. After 72 cm = 174 rows from ribbing A, bind off all stitches, ensuring the number of yarn overs corresponds to the number of stitches knitted together.
Sleeves: cast on 70 stitches and knit 19.5 cm = 46 rows in ribbing B, starting the 1st row with 2 purl, 2 knit, finishing with 2 knit, 2 purl. Then, increase for the sleeve slopes on both sides every 4th row by 24 × 1 stitch = 118 stitches, including the added stitches in ribbing B. After 26 cm = 62 rows from the starting row, bind off all stitches.
Assembly: sew the shoulder and side seams. Set in the sleeves.
