ELENA AVERCHENKO SELECTED SCHEMES :
PATTERN BRAID "SPIKE" 2
I would like to present to your attention two braids based on the basic braid spike
By changing just one intertwining to the opposite side, we get a very interesting, yet simple to execute braid.
1st Option - intertwining 3X3 :
Pattern scheme:
The scheme indicates both front and back rows. Front (odd rows) are read from right to left, back (even rows) are read from left to right.
The width of the braid is 24 stitches . We repeat from the 1st to the 12th row in height.
Second option - intertwining 2?2 :
Pattern scheme:
The scheme indicates both front and back rows. Front (odd rows) are read from right to left, back (even rows) are read from left to right.
The width of the braid is 16 stitches . We repeat from the 1st to the 12th row in height.
Legend to the schemes:
- back (back in front rows, front in back rows)
front (front in front rows, back in back rows)
Cross 4 stitches to the left (place 2 stitches on a spare needle and leave in front of work, knit 2 stitches, then knit the 2 stitches from the spare needle)
Cross 4 stitches to the right (place 2 stitches on a spare needle and leave behind work, knit 2 stitches, then knit the 2 stitches from the spare needle)
Cross 6 stitches to the left (leave 3 stitches on a spare needle in front of work, knit the next 3 stitches, then knit the 3 stitches from the spare needle)
