Sizes
36/38 (40/42)
You will need
Yarn (60% natural wool, 40% polyacrylic; 90 m/50 g) — 800 (900) g, needles No. 4.5; circular needles No. 4.5.
Patterns and Schemes
Ribbing
Rows in the forward and backward direction (odd number of stitches).
Right-side rows: selvedge, alternately 1 purl, 1 twisted knit, finish with 1 purl, selvedge.
Wrong-side rows: knit stitches according to the pattern.
Circular rows (even number of stitches) = alternately 1 knit, 1 purl.
Main Pattern
The number of stitches at the beginning is a multiple of 26 + 23 (5) + 2 selvedges = knit according to the scheme. It shows the right-side and wrong-side rows.
Start with 1 selvedge and the last 22 (0) stitches of the rapport, constantly repeat the rapport, finish with 1 (5) stitches after the rapport and 1 selvedge.
Start with 1 wrong-side row (= R), adding stitches according to the scheme.
After the 1st wrong-side row, the number of stitches is a multiple of 27 + 23 (6) + 2 selvedges. Then constantly repeat rows 1–24.
Reverse Stockinette Stitch
Right-side rows — purl stitches, wrong-side rows — knit stitches.
Half-Patent Pattern
Circular rows (even number of stitches).
1st circular row: * 1 knit, 1 stitch slipped with 1 yarn over, as purl, repeat from * constantly.
2nd circular row: * 1 knit, knit together with yarn over as purl, repeat from * constantly.
Constantly repeat 1–2nd circular rows.
Knitting Density
23 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Pattern
Execution of Work
Back
Cast on 129 (137) stitches and knit 2 cm of ribbing for the hem.
Continue with the main pattern, starting according to the scheme with 1 wrong-side row = 133 (143) stitches. This row is not counted in subsequent calculations.
After 48.5 cm = 136 rows (50.5 cm = 142 rows) from the hem, close for shoulder slope on both sides 1 x 4 (6) stitches, then in every 2nd row close 3 x 4 stitches and 9 x 3 stitches.
After 58 cm = 162 rows (60 cm = 168 rows) from the hem, close the remaining 47 (53) stitches according to the pattern, with the middle 41 (47) stitches forming the neckline, and the outer 3 stitches forming the shoulders.
Front
Knit as for the back, but for a deeper neckline close the middle 29 (35) stitches already after 53.5 cm = 150 rows (55.5 cm = 156 rows) from the hem, and finish both sides separately.
To round off the inner edge, close in every 2nd row 2 x 2 stitches and 2 x 1 stitch. At the height of the back, close the remaining 3 stitches at the shoulders.
Sleeves
Cast on 67 (71) stitches for each sleeve and knit 5.5 cm of ribbing for the hem, adding 14 stitches evenly in the last right-side row = 81 (85) stitches.
Continue as follows: selvedge, 2 (0) stitches in reverse stockinette, 75 (83) stitches in the main pattern, 2 (0) stitches in reverse stockinette, selvedge.
Start according to the scheme with 1 wrong-side row = 83 (89) stitches. This row is not counted in subsequent calculations.
After 33.5 cm = 94 rows from the hem, close the stitches according to the pattern.
Assembly
Perform the shoulder seams.
For the collar, cast on 86 (94) stitches along the neckline on circular needles and first knit 1 circular row in knit stitches and 3 circular rows in ribbing. Continue with the half-patent pattern.
After 20 cm from the beginning of the collar, knit 1 circular row in knit stitches, then close all stitches as knit.
Set in the sleeves, perform the side seams and sleeve seams.
