  — purl in knit rows, knit in purl rows.

  — knit 2 stitches together with a right slant
  (insert the needle into the 2nd stitch, then into the 1st and knit them together)

  (slip the 1st stitch as if to knit, knit the 2nd stitch and pull it through the slipped stitch)

• λ (inverted tick) — 3 stitches together knit with a left slant:
  slip 1 stitch as knit, without knitting,
  knit the next 2 stitches together through the front loops,
  pull the resulting stitch through the slipped one.
