The model description suggests yarn of two colors, white and lilac. The sample of the first model uses section-dyed yarn.
You will need:
- 300 g of white and 50 g of lilac yarn (40% mohair, 60% acrylic 100g/500m),
- 50 g of lilac lurex,
- knitting needles No. 3,
- circular needles No. 3.
Patterns and stitches:
Stockinette stitch: knit row – knit stitches; purl row – purl stitches.
1x1 Ribbing: 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch.
Front:
Cast on 104 stitches and knit 5 cm in 1x1 ribbing, then the item is knitted in the entrelac technique. You should have 10 triangles (based on one triangle = 8 stitches), so when casting on the triangles, decrease the stitches evenly. This is necessary to ensure that your item fits your size. If this is too complicated for you, then first decrease the stitches to the desired number and then start knitting the triangles as follows:
base row
– triangles: the width of the triangle is 8 stitches:
Row 1 (wrong side): 2 purl stitches, turn the work.
Row 2: 2 knit stitches, turn the work.
Row 3: 3 purl stitches, turn the work.
Continue knitting, adding 1 stitch in each purl row until there are 8 stitches on the needle. Leave the stitches of the first triangle on the right needle and start again from Row 1 to complete the second triangle. Repeat until 10 triangles have been knitted.
A. Right edge triangle
Knit with white yarn and lurex. This triangle will be the base for a row of rectangles.
Row 1 (right side): 2 knit stitches, turn the work.
Row 2: 2 purl stitches, turn the work.
Row 3: knit through the front and back of the stitch, decrease 1 stitch to the left (connect this triangle with the next one on the left needle), turn the work.
Row 4: knit purl, turn the work.
Row 5: knit through the front and back of the stitch, knit until only one stitch of the triangle remains, decrease stitches to the left, turn the work.
Repeat rows 4-5 until all stitches of the lower triangle are knitted. Do not turn the knitting after finishing the last 5th row.
Rectangle
Start knitting the first rectangle. For this, pick up 6 stitches from the side edge of the triangle.
Row 1 (right side): knit the picked up stitches, turn the work.
Row 2: knit purl, turn the work.
Row 3: knit until the last stitch, knit the last stitch together with the first stitch of the base of the next triangle, turn the work.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until all 8 stitches of this triangle are knitted. Start with row 1 to knit the next rectangle. Knit the entire row of rectangles in this way.
Left edge triangle
Finish the row of rectangles with a side triangle.
Row 1 (right side): cast on 8 stitches from the base of the last triangle, turn the work.
Row 2: knit purl, decrease 1 stitch at the end of the row by knitting 2 together purl, turn the work.
Row 3: knit, turn the work.
Repeat rows 2-3 until only 1 stitch remains. Secure the yarn and cut it.
B. Rectangle
Now you proceed to the row of rectangles on the wrong side of the fabric. Take the lilac yarn with lurex.
Row 1 (wrong side): from the base of the triangle, cast on 8 stitches with the working yarn, moving down the side of the triangle, turn the work.
Row 2: knit, turn the work.
Row 3: knit purl until the last stitch, knit the last stitch together with the next stitch of the next rectangle, turn the work.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you have knitted all the stitches of the lower rectangle.
When you finish the rectangle, do not turn the work, but start knitting the next rectangle. Repeat until you have knitted all the rectangles in the row.
Thus, alternating (A) and (B) rows (see color scheme in the picture: white rectangle, white rectangle with lurex, lilac rectangle with lurex), knit the front until the armhole – a total of 12 rows, the last row – white. In the last row of rectangles, decrease 8 stitches from each side. Then knit another 8 rows of rectangles. In the last 8th row, you divide the item into 3 parts and close the middle part with a triangle (see neckline knitting), the remaining parts are the shoulders.
Knitting the neckline
For this, using white yarn with lurex on the right side of the item, knit 3 rectangles, then 3 triangles as follows: introduce the working yarn into the base of the rectangle and pick up 8 stitches, in the purl row the last 2 stitches are knitted together, in the knit row the last stitch is knitted together with the next stitch of the next rectangle. Repeat the procedure along the next 2 rectangles, filling the gaps between the rectangles with triangles, and the upper edge forms a straight line. Then knit 3 rectangles. Knit another 2 rows of rectangles and close with a row of triangles, as described above, only in the purl row you do not knit 2 stitches together at the end of the row, but knit short rows. You will have 24 stitches left on each side. For the shoulder slope, leave 8 stitches unknitted at the end of the purl row from the right edge for the shoulder slopes; turn the work; make a yarn over (to avoid a hole later) and knit the next knit row. Repeat this 2 more times, close all stitches in the purl row, knitting the yarn overs together with the next stitch. From the left edge, leave stitches unknitted in the knit row and at the end knit the yarn overs together with the next stitch. The length of the item = 59 cm.
Back:
cast on 104 stitches and knit 5 cm in ribbing, then knit in stockinette stitch until the armhole. For the armhole, close 8 stitches once on each side of the knitting and then knit in stockinette stitch until the length of the item is 57 cm. You will have 88 stitches on the needle. Make shoulder slopes and at a height of 59 cm close the shoulder stitches, leaving the central 40 stitches unclosed.
Sleeves:
cast on 48 stitches and knit 6 cm in 1x1 ribbing. Then knit in stockinette stitch, increasing 1 stitch on both sides in every 8th row. After 37 cm from the ribbing for the armhole, close on both sides in every 2nd row 1 x 5 stitches and 17 x 1 stitch. After 16 cm from the start of the armhole, close the remaining stitches.
Assembly:
sew the shoulder seams, set in the sleeves. For the collar, cast on 100 stitches along the neckline, knit 14 cm in 1x1 ribbing, then cast off all stitches according to the pattern.
