NOTES

1. The pullover is knitted from the top down, first on larger needles. The neck finishing will be done later.

2. The method of knitting short rows used is German short rows – knit to the specified turning point, turn the work, slip the 1st st as if to purl with the yarn in front, then wrap the yarn over the right needle from front to back so both walls of the slipped stitch are visible on the needle, forming a double stitch. This double stitch counts as 1 stitch.

Ribbing 2/2

All round rows - *2 knit, 2 purl, repeat from *

EXECUTION

YOKE

With larger needles, cast on 168 (168-182-196-210) (22-238-252-252) sts. Join the stitches in a round, ensuring they are not twisted.

Place a marker for the start of the round.

Knit 1 round in knit.

Continue knitting the yoke following the Pattern Chart, repeating the round pattern 12 (12-13-14-15) (16-17-18-18) times.

After completing the pattern, there will be 336 (336-364-292-420) (448-476-504-504) sts on the needles. Determine which pattern repeat will be central on the front and then mark the center 3 repeats (one marker on each side of 84 sts). The start of the round should be somewhere on the left side of the back.

Continue knitting with short rows.

Knit in knit to the marker. Turn the work, make a double stitch (see Notes above) and knit purl to the other marker. *Turn, make a double stitch, knit in knit to the double stitch of the previous row, knit the double stitch in knit (through both walls, as 1 stitch) and knit 4 in knit. Turn, make a double stitch, knit purl to the double stitch of the previous row, knit 4 in purl. Repeat from * another 7 times. Turn, make a double stitch, knit in knit to the double stitch of the previous row, knit it in knit and knit in knit to the end of the round.

Move the 1st central marker 28 sts to the left. Move the 2nd central marker to the right. Now the markers are on both sides of the central 28 sts. Knit in knit to the 2nd central marker.

In the next round, decrease or increase stitches (depending on the size) from one marker to the other, without making decreases/increases on the central 28 sts.

Size 34” – (49 knit, 2 together knit) 6 times, knit to the end – 330 sts.

Size 38” – (19 knit, M1) 16 times, knit to the end – 352 sts.
