Sweater with Japanese patternhttp://klubok.work/1/3/9077/Klubok

Before starting work, a sample was connected and washed: the width of one rapport was 10.5 cm. For size 52, a width of about 60 cm is usually made, so 6 rapports were used. Despite the fact that the yarn indicated size 3 needles, larger needles were better suited for the main fabric. The ribbing was done on size 2 needles fairly tightly, as the client prefers a snug edge. The knitting then continued on size 4 needles, and part of the sleeves on size 4.5. The optimal solution would have been to immediately take larger needles, as the pattern has pronounced elasticity in width and the item should not fit too tightly. In the future, for a similar jumper, it is recommended to add one more rapport.

Yarn

The yarn performed excellently: only 9.5 skeins (450 g) were used for the item, which can be considered economical. The lurex deserves special attention - it was already woven into the cord, so the work went smoothly and did not require additional manipulations with extra thread.

Pattern Features

The pattern is quite complex and is not immediately memorized; it was only performed without hints closer to the end of the knitting. In the initial stages, there were difficulties with lost yarn overs and determining the direction of knitting two stitches together on the purl side. However, after a little practice, these moments ceased to cause difficulties.

The ribbing was done using a regular cast-on, and the neckline was closed with a needle, which allowed for a neat factory edge. The sleeves were slightly widened at the armhole at the client's request: 44 stitches were cast on for the ribbing, and in the last row, the number increased to 83, resulting in exactly 4 rapports. Thanks to the elasticity of the pattern, the result turned out harmonious.
