KNITTING TECHNIQUES

ATTENTION! All descriptions are calculated for classic stitch execution, i.e., knitting knit stitches through the front loop; if you knit using the grandmother's method, i.e., through the back loop, you need to keep track of the stitch position and adjust the order of execution yourself.

Repeat * times – denotes the total number of repetitions, including the described.

Repeat * more times – denotes the number of repetitions after the described.

(RS) – right side.

(WS) – wrong side.



2 together knit with a right slant - knit 2 stitches together knit through the front loops.

2 together knit with a left slant - slip 2 stitches as knit through the front loop, return them to the left needle turned, knit 2 stitches together through the back loop.

1 knit from a yarn over with a left slant

Insert the left needle under the yarn over between stitches, moving the needle away from you, and knit the stitch through the back loop. In the video until 1:15

Double neckline

Cast on 102 (102, 102, 102, 112, 112, 130, 134, 140) stitches on 3 mm needles using the long tail cast on method.

Place a marker for the beginning of the round. Join the work in the round (middle of the back).

Knit 8 cm in ribbing: 1 knit through the back loop, 1 purl.

Yoke

Increase row to be knitted depending on the chosen size.

Size 1: *(10 knit stitches, 1 knit from a yarn over with a left slant) repeat the instructions in parentheses 4 times, 11 knit stitches, 1 knit from a yarn over with a left slant*, repeat between ** until the end of the row.
10 stitches increased.

Size 2: *(6 knit stitches, 1 knit from a yarn over with a left slant) repeat the instructions in parentheses 2 times, 5 knit stitches, 1 knit from a yarn over with a left slant*, repeat between ** until the end of the row.
18 stitches increased.

Switch to 3 mm needles.

Knit 4 cm in ribbing: 1 knit through the back loop, 1 purl.

Bind off using the Italian bind off method.

Right sleeve

Work depending on the size.

Sizes 1, 5, 9

Transfer sleeve stitches from the holder to 3.5 mm needles. Starting from the right edge of the underarm, pick up and knit 10 stitches, knit the sleeve stitches, continuing to work according to chart 2, cut the yarn, return the last 5 knitted stitches to the left needle, place a marker for the beginning of the round.

Join the yarn and continue working in the round.

Sizes 2, 6

Transfer sleeve stitches from the holder to 3.5 mm needles. Knit the sleeve stitches, continuing to work according to chart 2, pick up and knit 10 stitches along the underarm, place a marker for the beginning of the round.

Continue working in the round.

Sizes 3, 7

Starting from the middle of the underarm, pick up and knit 5 stitches, transfer sleeve stitches from the holder to 3.5 mm needles, knit the sleeve stitches, continuing to work according to chart 2, pick up and knit 5 stitches along the remaining part of the underarm, place a marker for the beginning of the round.

Continue working in the round.

Sizes 4, 8

Transfer sleeve stitches from the holder to 3.5 mm needles. Starting from the right edge of the underarm, pick up and knit 10 stitches, knit the sleeve stitches, continuing to work according to chart 2, place a marker for the beginning of the round.

Continue working in the round.

All sizes

80 (80, 80, 80, 100, 100, 120, 120, 120) stitches on the needles. Knit 41 (41, 41, 41, 43, 43, 43, 43, 43) cm according to chart 2, including the underarm stitches in the pattern, or 4 cm less than the desired length.

Try on the pullover.

Decrease row to be knitted depending on the chosen size.

Sizes 1-4: *2 knit stitches, 2 together knit with a right slant*, repeat between ** until the end of the row. 20 stitches decreased.

Sizes 5, 6: *(1 knit stitch, 2 together knit with a right slant) repeat the instructions in parentheses 2 times, 2 knit stitches, 2 together knit with a right slant*, repeat between ** until the end of the row. 30 stitches decreased.

Sizes 7-9: *(1 knit stitch, 2 together knit with a right slant) repeat the instructions in parentheses 2 times, 2 together knit with a right slant 3 times*, repeat between ** until the end of the row. 50 stitches decreased.

60 (60, 60, 60, 70, 70, 70, 70, 70) stitches on the needles

Switch to 3 mm needles. Knit 4 cm in ribbing: 1 knit through the back loop, 1 purl.

Bind off using the Italian bind off method.

Left sleeve

Knit similarly to the right sleeve.

Sizes 2, 6

Transfer sleeve stitches from the holder to 3.5 mm needles. Starting from the right edge of the underarm, pick up and knit 10 stitches, knit the sleeve stitches, continuing to work according to chart 2, place a marker for the beginning of the round.

Continue working in the round similarly to the right sleeve.

Sizes 4, 8

Finishing

Fold the neckline inward and sew. Wet and block the garment.
