Sweater of mohair

In the original it was knitted from kid-mohair. I knitted from mink down in 2 strands + an extra strand. Needles 5.5. Ribbing with needles 4.5. Width 50 cm, body length with ribbing to the underarm 30 cm, sleeve length with ribbing to underarm 42 cm, raglan 25 cm.
Changed to bottom raglan, seamless. Increased length by 3 pattern repeats + 6 rows to the underarm. At the underarm 8 stitches on each side (front right 4 stitches, left 4 stitches, same for back).

Sleeves 5 repeats + 6 rows to underarm (also 8 stitches). Cast on 42 stitches, ribbing 4.5, then increase 6 stitches (48 stitches), place a marker in the middle on the inside of the sleeve, knit on needles 5.5, making increases on every 8th row on both sides of the marker 12 times = 72 stitches.

Next, connect the body and sleeves and knit raglan, continuing from the 7th row of the pattern + another 2 full repeats, making decreases toward one raglan line (knit stitch from the body) by 2 together purlwise in every 2nd row across body and sleeves. Total remaining stitches in front and back 34 stitches, sleeve 12 stitches.

Next, the yoke from 8 rows: front 4 and 4; Sleeve 4 and 4 stitches. Switch to needles 4.5 and knit ribbing to any height.

You will need: yarn (70% mohair, 30% silk; 200 m/25 g) - 200 (225) 250 g caramel-brown and 75 (75) 100 g light coral; needles No. 5 and 6; circular needles No. 5.

Note: the garment is knitted in 3 strands.

Ribbing (knitting in rows in straight and reverse directions): number of stitches even. Right side rows: edge stitch, alternate 1 knit, 1 purl, edge stitch. Wrong side rows: work stitches as they appear.

Ribbing (knitting in the round): number of stitches even. Knit 1, purl 1.

Main pattern: number of stitches a multiple of 8 plus 2 edge stitches. Knit according to the chart. The chart shows knit and purl rows. In width, start with the stitches before the right arrow, repeat the repeat between the arrows, ending with the stitch after the left arrow. In height, repeat rows 1–20.

Stockinette stitch: knit rows - knit stitches, purl rows - purl stitches.

Stockinette stitch: knit rows - knit stitches, purl rows - purl stitches.

Decorative decreases: from the right edge: edge, 1 knit stitch of stockinette, 2 stitches knit together with a left-leaning decrease (= slip 1, knit the next stitch, then pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch); from the left edge: knit according to pattern until the last 4 stitches, 2 stitches knit together, 1 knit stitch, edge. On the wrong side row, decrease stitches are purled.

Stripe sequence: 10 rows with 3 caramel-brown threads, 18 rows with 3 threads (= 2 caramel-brown + 1 light coral), 16 rows with 3 threads (= 2 light coral + 1 caramel-brown), remaining rows knit with 3 light coral threads.

Gauge: 18 stitches x 22.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm, knitted in main pattern on needles size 6.

Back: on needles No. 5 cast on 98 (106) 114 stitches with 3 caramel-brown threads and knit for the lower band 4.5 cm = 9 rows with ribbing, starting from the wrong side row. Switch to needles No. 6 and knit in the main pattern. After 19.5 cm = 44 rows from the lower band, continue in the main pattern, changing thread colors in the specified sequence. At the same time first decrease on both sides 1 time by 4 (6) 7 stitches, then decrease for raglan slopes on every 2nd row 28(30)33 times by 1 stitch. With 34 stitches on the needles. After 45 cm = 102 rows (47 cm = 106) 49.5 cm = 112 rows from the lower band, bind off the remaining 34 stitches in one row.

Front: knit as the back, but with a round neckline. For this, after 42.5 cm = 96 rows (44.5 cm = 100 rows) 44 cm = 106 rows from the lower band, bind off the middle 28 stitches and then finish both sides separately. To shape the neckline, bind off on the inner edge every 2nd row once 2 stitches and once 1 stitch. Finish the second side symmetrically.

Sleeves: on needles No. 5 cast on 3 caramel-brown threads 44 (52) 60 stitches and knit for the cuff 4.5 cm = 9 rows with ribbing, starting from the wrong side. In the last row, evenly increase 10 stitches = 54 (62) 70 stitches. Switch to needles No. 6 and knit in the main pattern. At the same time, change thread colors for stripes in the specified sequence. After 14 cm = 32 rows from the cuff, increase on both sides for the slopes once by 1 stitch = 56 (64) 72 stitches. After 34 cm = 77 rows from the cuff, bind off all stitches.

Assembly: sew raglan seams. On circular needles No. 5, pick up along the edge of the neckline 90 stitches with 3 light coral threads and knit in the round for the collar band 3 cm = 6 rows with ribbing. Bind off stitches. Sew sleeve seams and side seams.
