42–46 (one size): width 47 cm, length 58 cm, armhole depth 18 cm, neckline width 18 cm, neckline depth 15 cm.

Gauge
10 cm × 10 cm = 16 stitches × 24 rows in stockinette on needles
5.5 mm.

 Attention! The knitting gauge must match the specified; therefore before starting work you must knit and wash a swatch. Then count how many stitches are in 10 cm. If there are more than 16 stitches, switch to thicker needles; if fewer than 16 stitches — switch to thinner needles.

Yarn

According to the description, the sweater is knit in 3 strands — mohair on silk Cielo (25 g / 212 m) in 2 strands and Lurex Lame 550 (25 g / 550 m) in 1 strand.

Yardage: 8 skeins of mohair and 2 skeins of lurex.

A different yarn may be used provided you achieve the exact gauge described.

Alternative:
Lana Gatto Silk Mohair, BBB Soft Dream, Vittorio Kutnor, Kidsilk Haze Rowan, Mohair Royal Lana Gatto — in 2 plies;
Viverone Plus — in 1 ply.

If desired, you can add knotty lurex, classic lurex, sequins on polyamide, or knit only from mohair on silk.

• Patterns

  • 1×1 Ribbing in the round:
    Round 1: knit 1, purl 1, repeat from * to *;
    repeat from the 1st round.

  • Lace chart «Leaves» — high quality.

    In even rows knit according to the chart.
    In circular knitting, yarn overs are worked as knit stitches,
    in turning (flat) knitting — as purl stitches.

  • Pattern repeat — 26 stitches wide and 40 stitches high.

  • 9th row of pattern (first repeat):
    at the start of the repeat, instead of 3 decreases knitwise — 2 decreases knitwise,
    in the 26th stitch — 1 knit.

  • 19th row of pattern (first repeat):
    at the start of the repeat, instead of 3 decreases knitwise — 2 decreases knitwise,
    knit the 26th and 27th stitches together purlwise.

  • 2 knit stitches with left- and right-leaning decreases

  • 3 stitches knit together

  • Yarn over in the pattern should be an eyelet

• Work execution

  Cast on 156 stitches on circular needles 4.5 mm.
  Knit in pattern «1×1 Ribbing» 11 rounds.

  Switch to needles 5.5 mm and knit as follows:

  M, 3 repeats of the pattern «Leaves», 78 knit.

  Repeat repeats marked with markers for convenience.

  Knit in height 1 pattern repeat + 1–36 rows of 2nd repeat.

  Then knit the front part of the garment.

  In 1st row, increase by 1 edge stitch (at the beginning and end of the row).
  On needles 80 stitches.

  Continue knitting in turning rows — knit 37–40 rows of the pattern,
  then 1–40 rows of the pattern.

  After this, you need to divide the knitting into 3 parts:
  27 stitches, 26 stitches, 27 stitches.

  Stitches in the middle may be transferred to additional needles or threads for convenience.

  Knit the shoulder slope (as seen in the knitting, to the right):

  27 stitches on needles.

  How to bind off knit stitches:
  Row 1 — bind off 6 stitches, then knit stitches.
  Row 2 and all even rows — purl stitches.
  Row 3 — bind off 7 stitches, then knit stitches.
  Row 5 — bind off 7 stitches, then knit stitches.
  Row 7 — bind off 7 stitches.

  Knit the shoulder slope (as seen in the knitting, on the left):

  How to bind off purl stitches:
  Start knitting from the purl side.
  Row 1 — bind off 6 stitches, then purl stitches.
  Row 2 and all even rows — knit stitches.
  Row 3 — bind off 7 stitches, then purl stitches.
  Row 5 — bind off 7 stitches, then purl stitches.
  Row 7 — bind off 7 stitches.

• Back

  On needles 78 stitches.
  Knit in stockinette with turning rows 40 rows.
  Then divide the knitting into 3 parts:
  29 stitches, 20 stitches, 29 stitches.

  

• 1. Align the finished edges flat against each other, the right sides of the pieces facing up.
  Begin at one edge, thread the needle through half of the edge stitch of the bottom piece and pull the thread.
  Now insert the needle into the edge stitch of the top piece and pull it out again in the middle of the next stitch (under the finished edge).
  As shown by the arrows in the diagram, insert the needle into the stitch of the bottom piece under the finished edge and pull it out again in the next stitch.

  2. On the top piece, again work with crossing, i.e., catch under the finished edge one sidewall of the last stitch and one sidewall of the next stitch,
  threading the needle through the middle of both stitches.
  About 2 cm of thread should be pulled.
  The sides of the stitches will close to form a continuous fabric.

  Right part (on the right):
  Row 1 — 29 knit.
  Row 2 — bind off 1 purl, 27 purl.
  Row 3 — 28 knit.
  Row 4 — bind off 1 purl, 25 purl.

  Shoulder slope is knitted the same way as the front piece.

  Left part (on the left):
  Start knitting from the wrong side.
  Row 1 — 29 purls.
  Row 2 — bind off 1 knit, 27 knit.
  Row 3 — 28 purls.

  Shoulder slope is knitted the same as the front piece.

  Further, you need to sew the shoulders with the stockinette seam,
  as shown in the picture.

• Knitting the collar.

  On circular needles 5 mm pick up
  26 stitches (center of the front) + 12 knit + 20 knit (center of the back) + 12 knit.

  Mark the start of knitting with a marker.
  Total on the needles 70 stitches.

  Knit as follows:
  26 stitches in the pattern «Leaves» (from row 1), then 44 knit.

  According to the description, it is knit in height 1 pattern repeat.

  Bind off the stitches in a method of your choice.
  According to the pattern — bind off stitches with a needle.

  Knitting the sleeves

  On circular needles 5.5 mm pick up 64 stitches.

  Knit as follows:
  6 knit, 2 repeats of the pattern «Leaves», 6 knit.
  Mark the start of knitting with a marker.

  Knit in height 2 pattern repeats,
  making decreases (2 knit together with a right-leaning) in 20, 30, 50, 70 rows.

  On needles 56 stitches.

  Switch to needles 4.5 mm and knit in pattern «1×1 Ribbing»
  the required number of rows
  (the pattern calls for 20 rows),
  while decreasing in 1 row until 44 stitches
  (knit 2 purl stitches together 12 times).

  Bind off the stitches in a method of your choice.
  The second sleeve is knitted in the same way.

• WET BLOCKING

  After the garment is fully knitted,
  you should wash it in warm water
  with a washing agent.

  All mohair-on-silk items I wash by hand.
  Drying — on a horizontal surface (on a towel).

  When the garment is dry,
  weave in the ends on the wrong side of the garment.
