MATERIALS

• 8 (9, 12) skeins of Cool Wool Alpaca yarn (50 g per 140 m, 70% virgin wool and 30% Alpaca);
• 15 stitch markers and 4 stitch holders or scrap yarn;
• Circular needles 4 mm in 80 cm length or straight needles 4 mm, or needles of another thickness that achieve the required gauge;
• Circular needles 4.5 mm in 80 cm length or straight needles 4.5 mm, or needles of another thickness that achieve the required gauge;
• Scissors;
• Darning needle.

GAUGE FOR THE SWATCH
Pattern "Stockinette Stitch" after blocking:
20 stitches and 26 rows = 10×10 cm, needles 4.5
Pattern "Lace" after blocking:
55 stitches and 24 rows = 28×9 cm, needles 4.5

Your knitting gauge may differ significantly from mine.
I highly recommend checking your gauge on a swatch, which you must wash and dry.
If necessary, choose needles of the appropriate size for yourself.
It is enough to knit the swatch in stockinette stitch, as with the Lace pattern they are the same.

Twisted stitch

The symbol on the pattern chart “Bobble” indicates that from one stitch you should work five stitches:
1st row: knit the 1st stitch through the front loop, knit the 2nd stitch through the back loop, knit the 3rd stitch through the front loop, knit the 4th stitch through the back loop, knit the 5th stitch through the front loop.
And here is a TIP: knit this last stitch by catching it through the loop between the stitches from which the bobble is worked and the next one.
Then slip the stitch from the left needle and knit another 4 rows as turning rows, namely:

Note:
The front and back of the sweater are worked separately in circular rounds, then joined and the yoke is worked on circular needles until the garment is finished.

FRONT WITH BACK
On circular needles 4 mm cast on 187 (199, 215) stitches. Join the stitches in the round, knitting the last and first stitches of the cast-on row together. In total, there are 186 (198, 214) stitches in the round. Attach a marker at the beginning of the round. Knit 11 rounds or 4 cm in the rib pattern.

Switch to needles 4.5 mm, and counting for convenience of following the patterns as the first circular row, just after the start-marker, knit: 19 (22, 26) knit stitches, 55 stitches in Lace pattern (for size L start knitting the sleeve from row 13 of the Lace pattern), 19 (22, 26) knit stitches, marker, 93 (99, 107) knit stitches.

Continue knitting straight with the Lace pattern according to the chart in the center of the front until the height of 28 (37, 35) cm or 74th (95th, 91st) row inclusive; do not count the ribbing in the measurement!

Divide the work into front and back.
Slip 3 (3, 4) stitches from the marker and the preceding 3 (3, 4) stitches from the end of the circular row onto a stitch holder for the armhole; slip 87 (93, 99) stitches for the front; slip together with the marker the next 6 (6, 8) stitches onto a stitch holder for the second armhole; and slip the next 87 (93, 99) stitches onto an additional needle for the back.

Note: If the garment is visually divided into front and back, then on both sides there are 3 (3, 4) stitches used for armholes or the so-called slits — total 12 (12, 16) stitches. In fact, the front and back will each have 87 (93, 99) stitches.

SLEEVES
On 4 mm double-pointed needles or 4 mm circular needles using the Magic Loop method, cast on 57 (63, 63) stitches. Join the stitches in the round, knitting the last and first stitches of the cast-on row together. In total there are 56 (62, 62) stitches in the round. Attach a marker at the beginning of the round. Knit 11 rounds or 4 cm in the rib pattern.
In the last round evenly increase by 9 (9, 17) stitches. To do this, pick up one twisted knit stitch from the yarn tail after every 6 (6, 4) stitches. In total, there should be 65 (71, 79) stitches on the needles.

Switch to 4.5 mm double-pointed needles or 4.5 mm circular needles using the Magic Loop method and knit as follows:
Marker at the beginning of the round, 5 (8, 12) knit stitches, 55 stitches in Lace pattern (for size L start knitting the sleeve from row 13 of the Lace pattern), 5 (8, 12) knit stitches.

Now knit one row immediately, knitting all yarn-overs onto the stitches created during the turning together with the stitch onto which they were placed.

In the same knit row, additionally knit all raglan decreases once along all four raglan lines.

For this, knit 2 together with left-leaning up to the marker and 2 together with right-leaning after the marker in this same row.

From the next row, continue knitting the pattern "Rib" in rounds with 4 mm needles.

Total stitches on the needles: 148.

You can also leave the ribbing stitches open, fold them inward and sew to the start of the collar knitting with a needle, aligning the first and last row of each stitch each time.

Stitches left on holder: open 6 (6, 8) stitches from the sleeve and 6 (6, 8) stitches from the front and back under each sleeve, the so-called underarm sections, join with a mattress stitch using a tapestry needle.

WATER-THERMAL TREATMENT
I recommend washing the sweater by hand.

Fill a container with water, lower a thermometer into it to ensure the correct temperature range of 30–40 degrees.
Detergent should be added to the water before your garment goes in. Soak for 15 minutes and begin rinsing, checking the water temperature each time.

Wring the garment in a towel, do not twist or pull;
• after washing and wringing, remove the garment from the washing container,
lay it flat on a towel, giving it its original size up to the use of a measuring tape, smoothing out the stretched garment away from heat sources;
• after 10–12 hours turn the sweater to the other side;
• do not lift or try on the garment until it is completely dry;
• do not iron a dry garment.

High temperatures damage wool fibers.
