PATTERN

START OF KNITTING THE GARMENT

Cast on on 4.0 mm needles the required number of stitches:

Join the stitches in a circle, mark the beginning of the round with a marker.

Knit in the round in a 1×1 rib (1 knit, 1 purl) for 5 cm.

After the 1×1 rib, knit 77,(77),77 rows. The sleeve pattern chart should be knitted to a length of 19 to 24 rows once, and 1 to 24 rows 2 times, and 1 to 23 rows 1 time.

Also you can knit the sleeve in stockinette stitch — without a central pattern.

Bust Shaping

Bust shaping — this is a part of the garment knit by hand on circular needles, which increases the garment in the upper back area. Since the human body in the chest spine region has a curve forming a convex rounded shape on the back side, this requires additional increase to the back of the garment in the shoulder and neckline area. Bust shaping is worked in turning rounds using short rows.

Short rows on the right side.

In the right-side row, knit the required number of stitches up to a certain point,
in the charts this notation is used —

slip the next stitch onto the right needle, yarn behind the work,
wrap the stitch, move it back onto the left needle.
Turn the knitting to the wrong side.

Attach the yarn in the center of the Front, 15 stitches to the left of the central purl stitch, including the central stitch.

Switch to needles No. 4 and knit 1x1 ribbing (1 knit, 1 purl) in the round to a height of 4–5 cm (depending on desired fit).

Bind off stitches with a stretchy method:
1 knit, 1 purl, then pull the first stitch over the second, again 1 knit, pull over, etc.

Weave in the yarn ends on the wrong side.

NECKLINE KETTLESTITCH

To neatly finish the edge of the neckline, perform the kettle stitch:
from the wrong side pick up stitches along the base of the ribbing and knit them in the front stitch, then join with the edge using a needle.

This technique gives the neckline a factory finish and strengthens the edge.

UNDERARMS

Underarm openings are sewn with a knit stitch (stockinette).

For this, use a needle with a wide eye and the main color thread.
Connect the open stitches of the front armhole, sleeve, and back.

Sew, alternating:
1 stitch from one needle, 1 stitch from the other needle — alternately.

The seam should be elastic, not tight.

 

WET-HEAT TREATMENT

After finishing the knitting, the garment should be washed or carefully steamed so that the stitches relax and the pattern opens up.

Washing:
— use warm water (not above 30°C);
— apply liquid wool or delicate fabrics detergent;
— do not wring, press gently through a towel.

Lay the item flat on a horizontal surface, shape it according to the pattern and leave to dry completely.

Steaming:
— iron with steam function or steamer;
— do not press the soleplate onto the fabric, keep 1–2 cm away;
— allow the garment to cool completely in the laid-out state.

After VTO, the garment becomes soft, even, and takes its final size.
