Sizes: head circumference - 60 cm
The beret is knitted in the round.
You will need: Mondial Extrafine yarn (100% merino wool; 50g - 175 m,) - 75g; circular needles No.2.5.
Knitting density: 24 sts x 36 rows = 10x10cm
M1R: add a stitch from the previous row's yarn over by knitting into the front leg of the stitch
M1L: add a stitch from the previous row's yarn over by knitting into the back leg of the stitch
twisted S2KP: slip 1 stitch, slip 1 stitch as if to knit a twisted purl, return the 2 slipped stitches back to the left needle in their new position, knit 2 stitches together as you work, 1 knit, pull the slipped stitches through the knit stitch.
Procedure: cast on 162 stitches on needles No.2.5, place a marker and join the knitting in the round. Knit in 1x1 rib (alternating 1 knit, 1 purl) for 9 rows.
Increase row: *1 purl, M1R, 2 knits, M1R, 3 knits, M1R, 2 knits, M1L, 1 purl; repeat from * for all stitches, totaling 234 stitches in work.
