Knitting a ribbed hat with an unconventional crown.http://klubok.work/1/35/7671/Klubok
We knit a ribbed hat with an unconventional crown. Difficulty: medium Working time: 1 day Materials: yarn, circular needles, double-pointed needles, markers, and a spare needle 1. Cast on 112, 128, or 144 stitches on circular needles No. 3 (for a hat with a head circumference of 56-58 cm). You can change the number of stitches in increments of 16 stitches. This depends on your knitting tension and the size of the future hat! Why is this related? If you look closely at the crown, you will see 4 decorative stripes, next to which decreases are made. One stripe consists of [2 knit, 2 purl, 2 knit] = 6 stitches. So for 4 stripes we need 24 stitches. For symmetry in the pattern, the number of repeats in each of the 4 sectors should be "half". For example, 5.5 or 7.5… then the sector between the stripes with 6 stitches will start and end with 2 purl stitches. Let's calculate: 6.5 repeats of 4 stitches (for ribbing 2*2) = 26 stitches. There are 4 such sectors, so in total 26*4=104 stitches. Let's add the stitches for the stripes (24) and we get 128 stitches. 2. Knit the hat to the desired length until the start of the crown 3. Divide the stitches into 4 parts using double-pointed needles Highlight the stripe of 6 stitches in the center of each sector Do not forget to mark the beginning of the round, and take the spare needle! We knit the first round, reach the central stripe of 6 stitches [2 knit, 2 purl, 2 knit], slip 2 stitches before the stripe onto the spare needle and place it behind the work. Now we need to cover these two slipped stitches with 2 knit stitches leaning to the right. To do this, you need to knit stitches from the main needle and the spare needle in pairs. As a result, 2 stitches standing to the right of the stripe are decreased in one go. The stripe kind of covers the previous two stitches with its right knit stitches. Then knit 2 purl stitches - the central stitches of the stripe, according to the pattern. And now the two left knit stitches of the stripe cover the following stitches. To do this, slip 2 knit stitches onto the spare needle and place them in front of the work. Knit stitches from the spare needle and the main needle in pairs. You have gotten rid of another 2 stitches! If you don't understand what I'm talking about, look at the photo of the crown again. Such manipulations are repeated before and after each stripe (we have 4 of them, each with 6 stitches). Knit the next round according to the pattern, i.e., over each knit stitch - knit, over each purl stitch - purl. Repeat the decreases every row. Pay attention to the tilt of the stitch stripes! When there are only stripes of 6 stitches left on the needles + stripes of 2 purl stitches, decrease the stitches as follows: 1st row: knit all purl stitches 2 together (28 stitches will remain on the needles) 2nd row: according to the pattern 3rd row: knit all combinations of stitches [1 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit] together as knit (12 stitches will remain on the needles) 4th row: according to the pattern. Knit all stitches 2 together, and tighten the remaining ones with a strong cotton thread. The hat is ready!
