I knitted house slippers for my beloved. He doesn't play tanks, but I wanted to gift him some special slippers. So, I came up with moccasins. Actually, I stumbled upon this idea by accident (a borrowed idea, to be honest). There was no pattern for them, so I had to improvise, as always.
For those who want to replicate, I will briefly write how I knitted them.
I bought a pair of felt insoles of the right size from a grandmother at the market. I used one ball of gray yarn Kartopu Gonca (acrylic 300m/100g) and a little bit of black yarn from the same brand for these slippers. Hook size 3. I also bought two buttons to decorate them.
I knitted as follows: First, you need to make holes in the sole using an awl or something else (I did it with a knitting needle and manicure scissors, since I don't have an awl), about 1 cm from the edge and the same distance between the holes. Then I crocheted the edge of the sole, and between the holes, I made 2 chains. This can be done with gray yarn or (I later saw this) it can be done with more durable yarn, like silk. Once we crocheted the sole, we start knitting the top, alternating between raised and recessed stitches. Just in case, if you haven’t encountered them before or simply forgot, I provide diagrams.
We knit recessed over recessed and raised over raised, this creates a kind of ribbing. I knitted 7 rows of such ribbing, but you should adjust according to your man=)). Then we knit 1 row of regular sc, but skipping one stitch. This is necessary to tighten the slipper so it doesn't slip off the foot. I recommend repeating this step with the second slipper right away, so they are equally prepared and have maximum symmetry. When the second slipper is also edged, we start knitting the top. This part is knitted separately, as follows. Row 1: 11 ch Row 2: 10 sc Row 3: 9 sc, increase Row 4: 10 sc, increase Row 5: 11 sc, increase Row 6: 12 sc, increase Row 7: 13 sc, increase Row 8: 14 sc, increase Row 9: 15 sc, increase Row 10: 16 sc, increase Row 11: 17 sc, increase Row 12: 18 sc, increase Row 13: 19 sc, increase Row 14: 20 sc, increase Row 15: 21 sc, increase (I stopped at this width, but if your man has a wide foot, you can knit a couple more rows with increases) then we knit 23 sc in each row until you are satisfied with the length of this toe. I ended up with about 10-12 rows, I didn't count them. When the desired length is reached, we knit another 4 rows, but with decreases at the end of each row, to form a "tongue," like on real moccasins. We repeat this detail once more. Now comes the most difficult part, perhaps. We need to neatly attach our pieces. This can be done with a needle or with a hook using black yarn for contrast. The "tongue" is left unsewn. You can also edge the "tongue" with black yarn right away.
Great! Almost done! The last step is decoration. You can leave it as is, or you can crochet stripes 1.5-2 cm wide and sew them on, decorating them with a button of your choice color.
Hooray! The moccasins are ready!! Run to delight your beloved/husband/son/brother/grandson/nephew/uncle/grandfather/you know who)))
