Beginning to knit slippers with lace insert.
Cast on 23 stitches.
Row 1 - edge stitch, 1 knit, yarn over, 2 knit, 6 purl, 3 together
            knit, 6 purl, 2 knit, yarn over, 1 knit, edge stitch.
Knit rows 2 and all even rows in purl stitches.
Row 3 - edge stitch, 2 knit, yarn over, 2 knit, 5 purl, 3 together knit,
            5 purl, 2 knit, yarn over, 2 knit, edge stitch.
Row 5 - edge stitch, 3 knit, yarn over, 2 knit, 4 purl, 3 together knit,
            4 purl, 2 knit, yarn over, 3 knit, edge stitch.
Row 7 - edge stitch, 4 knit, yarn over, 2 knit, 3 purl, 3 together knit,
            3 purl, 2 knit, yarn over, 4 knit, edge stitch.
Row 9 - edge stitch, 5 knit, yarn over, 2 knit, 2 purl, 3 together knit,
            2 purl, 2 knit, yarn over, 5 knit, edge stitch.
Row 11 - edge stitch, 6 knit, yarn over, 2 knit, 1 purl, 3 together
             knit, 1 purl, 2 knit, yarn over, 6 knit, edge stitch.
Knit the required length with the pattern. I got three repeats. To make the toe rounded, starting from row 5 of the third repeat, you need to knit two stitches together at both edges. Decrease stitches in each knit row. You will have 17 stitches left on the needle. Do not close the stitches.
From the right side, pick up 25 stitches along the edge. Then knit 17 stitches from the second needle and pick up 25 stitches along the left side as well.
Then continue knitting garter stitch on three needles, trying it on your foot to get the desired height.
Mark the middle 12 stitches and we will knit the toe and sole with short rows until all side stitches are closed.
Cast on 14 stitches on the sides and continue knitting a straight piece until the heel.
Knit the heel, close the stitches. The edge can be finished with scallops or crochet with a "crab stitch".
