Slippers, step-by-step tutorial by elli59
Needles 2.5mm; sock yarn 100g-420m in 4 strands... Front side Start knitting on 2 needles. Cast on 30 stitches for women's socks and 34 stitches for men's socks. Knit all stitches knitwise through the back loop.
Wrong side Knit: 1 stitch purl, 1 stitch slip without knitting, yarn in front of the stitch.
After reaching the necessary height (10-11 side braids, depending on the size of the foot), we proceed to knit the heel. ???? Start on the wrong side of the work. After knitting 9 stitches as described above (1 purl, 1 slip without knitting), knit the 10th and 11th stitches together purlwise, then keep the pattern for 8 more stitches, knit the 9th and 10th stitches together purlwise. Thus, we have 19 stitches on the right needle, and 9 stitches on the left needle. Without knitting them, turn the work to the front side and slip the first stitch from the left needle without knitting, knit 8 stitches knitwise, knit the 9th and 10th stitches together knitwise through the back loop. There are 8 stitches left on the left needle. Without knitting them, turn the work to the wrong side and slip the first stitch without knitting, knit 8 stitches according to the above pattern (1 purl, 1 slip without knitting, yarn in front of the stitch). Knit the 9th and 10th stitches together purlwise.

Continue in this way until the decrease of stitches on both sides of the heel cap is finished. In the photo, you can see the heel cap.
On the left side, the decrease of stitches is finished. Here, it is necessary to pick up stitches from the edge row on the second needle and knit them knitwise, then turn the work and knit these stitches purlwise, followed by stitches on the heel cap, making the last decrease (10 stitches should remain on the heel cap). Pick up stitches from the edge stitches on the opposite side onto the 3rd needle and knit them purlwise. The knitting continues on 4 needles, one of which is the working needle. On the front side, knit all stitches knitwise, on the wrong side - the side part purlwise, and the heel cap according to the above pattern, while shifting the stitches by 1 to create a pattern similar to scales. Now it is necessary to pick up stitches from the opposite edge stitches. Thus, the knitting continues on 4 needles, of which one is the working needle. On the sides, the knitting is done in stocking stitch (knitwise on the front side, purlwise on the wrong side).
Knitting stitches on the sole after the cap in the next photo. The pattern of the scales is clearly visible in the photo.
Pattern scheme on the wrong side of the work: ohohohohox xoxoxoxoxo o - purl stitch; x - purl stitch slipped without knitting On the front side of the work, all stitches are knitted knitwise.
After knitting the necessary length (5-6 side braids), cast on the required number (10-12 stitches) of additional stitches for rounding the toe on the front side of the work and distribute them evenly on 4 needles.

Continue working on 5 needles.
Now knit all stitches knitwise.
After knitting the necessary length of the sock, proceed to knit the toe.

To do this, we narrow the toe from both sides by knitting 2 stitches together as follows:

- on the top of the toe on the right side (at the beginning of the needle) knit:
1 stitch knitwise, the next 2 stitches together knitwise through the back loop;

on the left side (at the end of the needle): 2 stitches together knitwise through the front loop, 1 knitwise.

- on the back side of the toe on the right side while knitting (at the beginning of the needle) 1 knitwise, 2 stitches together knitwise through the back loop;

on the left side (at the end of the needle) 2 stitches together knitwise through the front loop.

Pull the working yarn through the remaining 4 stitches and secure it inside the toe.
 The final stage of knitting - we crochet the toe.
