Then with black 1 edge, 1 slip (yarn behind the work), 1 knit, 1 slip...(a total of 8 stitches with the edge), continue the row with black knit stitches, the last 8 stitches are knitted as at the beginning of the row with mirror symmetry. The return row is knitted as described above, knit the knitted stitches, slip the slipped ones (yarn in front of the work), 2 rows with gray, knit 16 stitches with black as the previous 8, continue with black knit stitches, finish with 16 stitches as at the beginning of the row, back the same way, again 2 rows with gray, now 24 stitches... and back, 2 rows with gray.
