Simple model of traces

We will knit slippers in size 36 - 37. The yarn is Caucasian, needles size 2.5, medium tension. We will use green yarn for the main color and white yarn for the stripes. Cast on 20 stitches with the main color yarn, which is green for me, using any method you prefer. Next, we will knit garter stitch (all stitches knit) for 50 rows. Always slip the first edge stitch at the beginning of the row without knitting, and always knit the last edge stitch at the end of the row as a purl stitch. Rows 1 - 50 - edge, all stitches knit, edge. We will introduce the contrasting color yarn, which is white for me, and knit another 20 rows of garter stitch. Rows 50 - 70 - edge, all stitches knit, edge. Cut the yarn, it will not be needed anymore. Next, we will continue knitting with the main color yarn for another 90 rows of garter stitch. Rows 70 - 160 - edge, all stitches knit, edge. We have a rectangle measuring 37 cm long and 8 cm wide. Now we will close the stitches using any method you prefer, until the last stitch.

Next, we will cast on stitches along the edge of the hem from the front side. We got 80 stitches. We will decrease by knitting several rows. Row 1 (wrong side) - edge, 19 knit, 2 together knit (20 times), 19 knit, edge. There are a total of 60 stitches on the needles. Row 2 (right side) - edge, all stitches knit, edge. Row 3 (wrong side) - edge, 19 knit, 2 together knit (10 times), 19 knit, edge. There are a total of 50 stitches on the needles. Now we will close all stitches using any method you prefer. The slipper is ready. We just need to sew the bottom of the sole and the back. We will knit the second slipper in the same way, ensuring that the stripes are symmetrically placed, but in reverse order: 90 rows in green, 20 rows in white, and 50 rows again in green.
