    4. 106 sts

    5. 118 sts

  • Work in 2x2 ribbing, starting and ending the first and all odd-numbered rows (RS) with 2 knit sts.

After reaching a height of 30.5 cm, begin shaping armholes by binding off stitches on each side every 2nd row:

  1. Once 5 sts, once 4 sts, twice 3 sts, twice 2 sts, and once 1 st

  2. Once 5 sts, once 4 sts, twice 3 sts, twice 2 sts, and once 1 st

  3. Twice 5 sts, twice 3 sts, twice 2 sts, and once 1 st

  5. 56

At total height:

  1. 52 cm

  2. 53 cm

  3. 54 cm

  4. 55 cm

  5. 56 cm
    bind off the center

  6. 14

  7. 14

  8. 16

  9. 16

  10. 18 sts

Continue each side separately, binding off from neck edge every 2nd row:

  1. twice 3 sts, once 2 sts

  2. twice 3 sts, once 2 sts

  3. once 3 sts, once 2 sts

  4. twice 3 sts, once 2 sts

  5. twice 3 sts, once 2 sts

1st row (RS):
K1 (in place of lower purl st), make 2 sts from the strand, K1 (in place of lower purl st).

  1. 31 sts

  2. 31 sts

  3. 35 sts

  4. 39 sts

  5. 43 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with 2 knit sts and ending with K2tog.

  6. 9 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with K1

      1. 11 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with K1

  7. 13 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with K1

2nd row:
Work sts as established (sts made from strand work as purl sts on WS).

3rd row (RS):

  1. 9 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with K2

      1. 11 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with P2

  2. 13 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with P2

  • 1 simple lifted purl st
    Then:

  1. 31 sts

  2. 31 sts

  3. 35 sts

  4. 39 sts

  5. 42 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with K2 and ending with K2tog

Make a lifted purl st, K1 (in place of lower purl), make 1 lifted st, K1 (in place of lower purl)

  1. 9 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with K1

      1. 11 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with K1

  2. 13 sts in 2x2 rib, starting with K1

4th row:
Work sts as established (lifted sts as purl on WS).

Continue in this manner, decreasing at the sides of the 2x2 ribbing at a distance of

  1. 9

      1. 11

  2. 13 sts from the edge, and increasing sts in the central part of stockinette between the increases from strands as:
    2 knit, 4 knit, 6 knit, etc.

Total:

  1. 31 rows (62 rows)

  2. 31 rows (62 rows)

  3. 27 rows (54 rows)

  4. 23 rows (46 rows)

  5. 21 rows (42 rows)

Then continue as established
3) 4) 5) but do not make decreases and increases anymore even in WS rows, only work:

  • 1 lifted knit stitch (slip 1 knitwise), pick up 1 lifted purl strand and make 1 lifted purl (twist it to avoid hole),

  • then return that stitch and purl it together with the next purl st
(in pattern: knit on RS, purl on WS)

Perform this 3 times every 8th row, placing the decreases in a line:

  1. 23 rows (46 rows)

  2. 25 rows (50 rows)

  3. 25 rows (50 rows)

  4. 23 rows (46 rows)

  5. 24 rows (48 rows)

When all is done, continue working as per pattern.

At the same time:
When total height is 30.5 cm, shape armholes by binding off on each side every 2nd row:

  1. twice 4 sts, twice 3 sts, once 2 sts, once 1 st

  2. same as 1)

  3. twice 5 sts, twice 3 sts, once 2 sts, once 1 st

  4. same as 3)

  5. same as 3)

  6. Armhole shaping:
    2) Bind off: once 5 sts, once 4 sts, twice 3 sts, twice 2 sts, and twice 1 st
    3) Bind off: twice 5 sts, twice 3 sts, twice 2 sts, and twice 1 st
    4) Bind off: twice 5 sts, twice 4 sts, once 3 sts, twice 2 sts, and once 1 st
    5) Bind off: twice 5 sts, twice 4 sts, once 3 sts, twice 2 sts, and once 1 st

    Stitches remaining:

    1. 48

    2. 48

    3. 50

    4. 52

    5. 56 sts

    At total height:

    1. 42 cm

    2. 43 cm

    3. 44 cm

    4. 45 cm

    5. 46 cm – bind off the central

    6. 12

    7. 13

    8. 12

    9. 14

    10. 14 sts for the neckline, then finish each side separately:

      1. Bind off at neckline edge every 2nd row: once 4 sts, once 3 sts, once 2 sts, 4 rows above bind off once 1 st

    11. Bind off: once 4 sts, once 3 sts, once 2 sts, once 1 st, 4 rows above bind off once 1 st

    12. Bind off: once 4 sts, once 3 sts, once 2 sts, twice 1 st, 4 rows above bind off once 1 st

    13. Bind off: once 5 sts, once 3 sts, once 2 sts, once 1 st, 4 rows above bind off once 1 st

    At total height:

    1. 54 cm

    2. 55 cm

    3. 56 cm

    4. 57 cm

    5. 58 cm – bind off remaining 2 sts of the shoulder.

    ARMHOLE BANDS

10 cm of 1x1 ribbing (swatch stretches slightly) = approx. 28 rows.
Cast on 13 sts with needles No. 3.5 and knit 1x1 ribbing, beginning and ending with 2 knit sts.
On the left edge, bind off 2 sts every 2nd row (continuing from side edge of back or front).
    Total: 13 sts.

Work 1 band this way, and knit the second symmetrically.

    NECKLINE BAND

    With needles No. 3.5,

    1. 138 sts

    2. 138 sts

    3. 138 sts

    4. 142 sts

    5. 142 sts – and knit 2 cm in 2x2 ribbing, starting and ending each row (RS) with 2 knit sts.
Bind off all sts loosely with yarn double folded (knit and purl together several times for stretch).
Steam-block the edge from the wrong side through a wet cloth. Do not over-iron!

    ASSEMBLY

Sew back and front along the shoulder seams. Sew the armhole bands to the armhole.
Sew the neckline band into a ring and attach it around the neckline.
    Sew the side seams.
If desired, stitch down the edges of neckline and armhole bands from the inside.
