The star pattern should be knitted according to the following scheme:
-
Cast on the initial stitches, the number must be a multiple of four plus two edge stitches.
-
The first row is knitted with purl stitches, then the knitting continues according to the following scheme:
-
Row 2: 1 knit stitch, then perform the element "star": three stitches are knitted as crossed knit, after which the stitch is not removed, the working yarn is wrapped around the needle and a yarn over is made, then a crossed knit stitch is made from the same stitch again.
-
Row 3 and all subsequent odd rows are knitted with purl stitches.
-
Row 4: Knit three knit stitches, then the star element. The last three stitches of the row are finished with knit stitches.
-
After that, the knitting repeats from the first row.
-
To prevent the fabric from tightening when knitting the "star" element, the stitches should be made a bit looser than all the others.
