3. front loop and three yarn overs
4. wrapping the working yarn around the elongated stitches created by the yarn overs
pattern repeat 6 stitches
An interesting knitting element "spiders", each "spider" represents a group of wrapped elongated stitches. This pattern can be used to decorate the edge of a knitted item or to diversify a calm stockinette stitch by knitting a row of "spiders".
Description of the knitting technique "spiders":
On the right side, knit the first row with purl stitches; this will be the first row at the edge of the item.
In the second row on the wrong side, knit: edge, *knit 1 front stitch, then knit the next 5 stitches front and make three yarn overs after each stitch, repeat from *, finish the row with front stitches, edge stitch.
In the third row: edge, *purl, before the next 5 stitches, drop the yarn overs and pull the stitches through the yarn overs onto an additional needle. Wrap the elongated stitches around the working yarn two times counterclockwise and move the bundle of wrapped stitches to the right needle without knitting. Then, repeating from *, knit a purl stitch between the "spiders", then pull the next 5 stitches.
In the fourth row: on the wrong side, knit all stitches, including the wrapped ones, as front stitches.
Then, starting from the fifth row, on the right side, you can knit one more row of purl stitches, making the edge of the pattern more voluminous or switch to knitting stockinette stitch; if you are finishing the item, you can bind off the stitches.
