How to knit terry fabric by handhttp://klubok.work/1/89/5550/Klubok

A soft fluffy fabric is not as difficult to knit as it seems at first glance. The only difficulty is to ensure that the elongated stitches are of the same size. Of course, it will take more time than knitting a fabric of the same size with regular knitting.

The use of the motif with elongated stitches is quite broad: from blankets to baby booties. And also remember that you will need twice as much yarn, or even three times more, than for regular knitting with needles.

We recommend first calculating the necessary amount of yarn by knitting a gauge swatch and estimating how much will be needed for the entire item.

So, you will need:

- Yarn of any quality, depending on the purpose of the item;
- Needles corresponding to the yarn size.

Step 1. Knit all rows with knit stitches: both even and odd. Start as usual: cast on the required number of stitches on the needles and knit the first row or as many as needed according to your plan.

Step 2. Now knit a row with elongated stitches. We note right away that you can use your finger or a ruler, which you wrap with yarn and remove after finishing the row. Experienced knitters can experiment with what is more convenient for them. The advantage of using a ruler: one hundred percent identical stitches. But it may be a bit cumbersome while knitting.

We form the elongated stitch before each stitch on the needle. Insert the right needle into the stitch on the left needle, wrap the yarn around your middle finger, and knit the stitch on the needle, leaving the main stitch on the left needle without tightening the yarn over. Return the stitch to the left needle. Knit two stitches together. Repeat this for the entire row.

Step 3. A row of knit stitches.

Step 4. A row of elongated stitches.

Step 5. Close the fabric as usual.

You will understand all the nuances of this pattern in practice. Just try it, and you will succeed. At the end of the work, you can cut the stitches, and you will get a woolen fabric. You can also brush it out, then the yarn will fluff up and achieve a more realistic effect of a fur fabric.
