The number of stitches is a multiple of 10 + 5 (minimum 25 stitches) on a background of reverse stockinette stitch. The pattern image is based on 25 stitches.

Abbreviations:
T5B - slip 2 stitches onto a spare needle for "cable" behind the work, knit 3 stitches from the left needle, then purl the stitches from the spare needle for the "cable". T5F - slip 3 stitches onto a spare needle for "cable" in front of the work, purl 2 stitches from the left needle, then knit the stitches from the spare needle for the "cable".

Knit Row 1: (right side) 3 knit, * 4 purl, 6 knit, repeat from * to last 2 stitches, 2 purl.
Knit Row 2: 2 knit, * 6 purl, 4 knit, repeat from * to last 3 stitches, 3 purl.
Knit Row 3: 3 knit, * 4 purl, C6F (slip 3 stitches onto a spare needle for "cable" in front of the work, knit the next 3 stitches, then knit the 3 stitches from the spare needle for the "cable"), repeat from * to last 2 stitches, 2 purl.
