Pattern

 So we knit a sample with needles:

• Cast on 22 stitches (including 2 edge stitches)
• Row 1 — 1 edge stitch, * 1 purl, 1 knit stitch, yarn over, 1 purl, 4 knit stitches, 1 purl, yarn over, 1 knit stitch, 1 purl *, repeat between * *, 1 edge stitch.
• Row 2 — 1 edge stitch, * 1 knit stitch, 2 purl stitches, yarn over, 1 knit stitch, 4 purl stitches, 1 knit stitch, yarn over, 2 purl, 1 knit *, repeat between * *, 1 edge stitch.
• Row 3 — 1 edge stitch, * 1 purl stitch, 3 knit stitches, yarn over, 1 purl stitch, 4 knit stitches, 1 purl stitch, yarn over, 3 knit, 1 purl *, repeat between * *, 1 edge stitch.
• Row 4 — 1 edge stitch, * 1 knit stitch, 4 purl stitches, yarn over, 1 knit stitch, 4 purl stitches, 1 knit stitch, yarn over, 4 purl, 1 knit *, repeat between * *, 1 edge stitch.
• Row 5 — 1 edge stitch, * 1 purl stitch, 5 knit stitches, 1 purl stitch, leave 2 stitches on a holder behind work, knit the next two stitches, then knit the stitches from the holder, 1 purl stitch, 5 knit stitches, 1 purl *, repeat between * *, 1 edge stitch.
• Row 6 — 1 edge stitch, * 1 knit stitch, 5 purl stitches, 1 knit stitch, 4 purl stitches, 1 knit stitch,  5 purl stitches, 1 knit *, repeat between * *, 1 edge stitch.
• Row 7 — 1 edge stitch, * 1 purl stitch, 3 knit stitches, 2 together knit, 1 purl stitch, 4 knit stitches, 1 purl stitch, slip 1 stitch, knit the second and pull through the first, 3 knit, 1 purl *, repeat between * *, 1 edge stitch.
• Row 8 — 1 edge stitch, * 1 knit stitch, 2 purl stitches, 2 together purl twisted (through the back loop), 1 knit stitch, 4 purl stitches, 1 knit stitch, 2 together purl, 2 purl stitches, 1 knit *, repeat between * *, 1 edge stitch.
• Row 9 — 1 edge stitch, * 1 purl, 1 knit stitch, 2 together knit, 1 purl stitch, 4 knit stitches, 1 purl stitch, slip 1 stitch, knit the second and pull through the first, 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch *, repeat between * *, 1 edge stitch.
• Row 10 — 1 edge stitch, * 1 knit stitch, 2 together purl twisted, 1 knit stitch, 4 purl stitches, 1 knit stitch, 2 together purl, 1 knit *, repeat between * *, 1 edge stitch.
