Pattern scheme:

The scheme indicates both the knit and purl rows. Knit (odd rows) are read from right to left, purl (even rows) are read from left to right.

The width of the pattern is 32 stitches wide. The height is repeated from the 1st to the 40th row.

Legend for the scheme:   an empty cell means

 -purl (purl in knit rows, knit in purl rows)

knit (knit in knit rows, purl in purl rows)

Cross 4 stitches to the left (slip 2 stitches onto a holding needle and leave in front of work,  knit 2 stitches, then knit the 2 stitches from the holding needle)

Cross 4 stitches  to the right (slip 2 stitches onto a holding needle and leave behind the work, knit 2 stitches, then knit the 2 stitches from the holding needle)

Cross 3 stitches  to the right (slip 1 stitch onto a holding needle and leave behind the work, knit 2 stitches, then knit the stitch from the holding needle as purl)

Cross 3 stitches to the left (slip 2 stitches onto a holding needle and leave in front of work,  knit 1 stitch as purl, then knit the 2 stitches from the holding needle)
