1x1 Ribbing: alternately 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch, in purl rows knit as the stitches appear.
Stockinette Stitch: knit stitches in knit rows, purl stitches in purl rows.
Garter Stitch: knit stitches in both knit and purl rows.
Crossed Stitch Pattern:

1st row – 19 knit stitches.
2nd row – 8 purl stitches, 3 knit stitches, 8 purl stitches.
Repeat rows 1-2 until row 11.
11th row – 7 knit stitches, 1 stitch slip purlwise, yarn at back, 3 knit stitches, 1 stitch slip purlwise, yarn at back, 7 knit stitches,
12th row – 7 knit stitches, 1 stitch slip purlwise, yarn at front, 3 knit stitches, 1 stitch slip purlwise, yarn at front, 7 knit stitches.
13th row – 7 knit stitches, 1 stitch slip purlwise, knit the next 4th stitch (= slipped knit stitch) before 3 purl stitches, knit 3 purl stitches together, then knit the 1st slipped stitch (step-by-step execution of the stitch crossover below), 7 knit stitches.
14th row – 7 knit, 1 slip purlwise, yarn at front, 3 knit, 1 slip purlwise, yarn at front, 7 knit,
Repeat from rows 1 to 14.
