The pattern repeat in width consists of 6 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Row 1 (wrong side): edge stitch, knit all stitches purlwise and make a yarn over after each stitch, the last edge stitch is purl.
Row 2 (right side): edge stitch, *slip 6 stitches, dropping the yarn overs, pulling long stitches onto the right needle. Then with the left needle pick up the first three long stitches and place them over the remaining three stitches, which should be moved to the left needle. Now knit the crossed stitches in order knitwise*. Repeat **, slipping and pulling 6 stitches, crossing them and knitting them knitwise, the last edge stitch is purl.
