Pattern knitting

This pattern is perfect for knitting both children's and adult's items. You can knit absolutely everything with it. It will look great on sweaters, cardigans, blankets, scarves, skirts, dresses, and much more.
The pattern repeat consists of 8 stitches and 8 rows.

To knit the pattern in rows, cast on a number of stitches that is a multiple of 8 + 3 stitches for symmetry + 2 edge stitches.
Description of the pattern in rows:

Row 1: knit, 1 purl, *1 knit, 7 purl*, 1 knit, 1 purl, knit.

Row 2: knit, 1 knit, slip 1 stitch, leaving the yarn in front of the stitch, *7 knit, slip 1 stitch, leaving the yarn in front of the stitch*, 1 knit, knit.

Row 3: knit, 1 purl, *1 knit, 3 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl*, 1 knit, 1 purl, knit.

Row 4: knit, 1 knit, slip 1 stitch, leaving the yarn in front of the stitch, *3 knit, 1 purl, 3 knit, slip 1 stitch, leaving the yarn in front of the stitch*, 1 knit, knit.

Row 5: knit, 1 purl, *1 knit, 3 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl*, 1 knit, 1 purl, knit.

Row 6: knit, 1 knit, slip 1 stitch, leaving the yarn in front of the stitch, *3 knit, 1 purl, 3 knit, slip 1 stitch, leaving the yarn in front of the stitch*, 1 knit, knit.

Row 7: knit, 1 purl, *1 knit, 1 purl, (1 purl stitch, then with the right needle make a hole in the knit stitch of the 3rd row, as in knit stitching, wrap the yarn around the needle and pull out a long stitch) - repeat 5 times, 1 purl*, 1 knit, 1 purl, knit.

Row 8: knit, 1 knit, slip 1 stitch, leaving the yarn in front of the stitch, *1 knit, (knit the stitch from the previous row and the next stitch together) - repeat 5 times, 1 knit, slip 1 stitch, leaving the yarn in front of the stitch*, 1 knit, knit.

Then repeat from rows 1 to 8.
