Knit Pattern

The pattern features luxurious braids with a lacy element in the center.

Such braids can be used for knitting various items, particularly sweaters, cardigans, and blankets. The braids can be arranged in the fabric one after another as shown in my sample below, and you can also use a separate braid as a decorative strip.

The repeat of the pattern consists of 15 stitches and 6 rows in height.

The number of cast-on stitches must be a multiple of 15 + 3 stitches for symmetry and 2 edge stitches.

Pattern description:

Row 1: edge st., * 3 purl sts., 4 knit sts., 1 yarn over, 2 stitches knit together left-leaning, 2 stitches knit together right-leaning, 1 yarn over, 4 knit sts., * 3 purl sts., edge st.

Row 2: edge st., * 3 knit sts., 12 purl sts.,* 3 knit sts., edge st.

Row 3: edge st., * 3 purl sts., 4 knit sts., 1 yarn over, 2 stitches knit together left-leaning, 2 stitches knit together right-leaning, 1 yarn over, 4 knit sts., * 3 purl sts., edge st.

Row 4: edge st., * 3 knit sts., 12 purl sts.,* 3 knit sts., edge st.

Row 5: edge st., * 3 purl sts., 6 stitches crossed to the right (4 stitches put on a spare needle behind the work, knit 2 knit sts., knit stitches on the spare needle: 2 knit sts., 1 yarn over, 2 stitches knit together left-leaning), 6 stitches crossed to the left (2 stitches put on a spare needle in front of the work, 2 stitches knit together right-leaning, 1 yarn over, knit stitches on the spare needle: 2 knit sts.)*, 3 purl sts., edge st.

Row 6: edge st., * 3 knit sts., 12 purl sts.,* 3 knit sts., edge st.

Then repeat rows 1 to 6.
