Purple Skirt

Size: S-M
You will need: yarn (100% cotton, 280 m/50 g) — about 500 g of purple color, hook #1, stitch markers.

The skirt is knitted from top to bottom in the round without seams using a post stitch (which is slightly taller than a regular one, see the picture). You can use regular stitches, in which case the edge of the skirt needs to be knitted longer. The placement of patterns is shown on the pattern. Patterns are placed on a filet mesh (alternating 1 chain stitch and 1 double crochet).

The first pattern "wedges" has a significant expansion. Further increases are made between the pattern stripes.

Tip: mark the top of each "wedge" with a marker, make increases along these lines.

Pattern "popcorn": crochet 5 double crochets in the same base stitch. Pull the hook out of the stitch, insert it into the top of the first double crochet and pull the working yarn through 2 stitches with the stitch from which you pulled the hook.

Start knitting from the line just below the waist. Then, when working on the waistband, you can adjust the length of the skirt. Knit the first pattern "wedges" according to scheme 1. Place 8 repeats of the pattern (8 "wedges") along the hip line. After the "wedges" pattern, knit a row of double crochets and make increases — 1 mesh cell (= 2 double crochets) at the top of each "wedge." In total, add 16 double crochets (= 8 mesh cells). Then knit the "zigzag" pattern according to scheme 2. Repeat the rows 1-6 twice in height.

Then knit a row of double crochets (without increases) and move on to the "rays" pattern (scheme 3). The next pattern — "teeth" — scheme 4. Knit with the expansion shown in the scheme. Then knit the "diamonds" pattern according to scheme 5. The top of each "diamond" is located at the top of the "teeth" of the previous pattern. Then knit a row of single crochets (without increases) according to scheme 6.

Note that the skirt stretches a little after washing. Therefore, at this stage, it is better to dampen the skirt and dry it to understand how long to knit the edging.

Then knit the waistband. Edge the top of the skirt with several rows of single crochets, 1 row of double crochets, and 2 rows of single crochets. Knit a cord and thread it through the waistband of the skirt.
