Chain 3. In the first stitch, chain 8 single crochets. Depending on the thickness of the hook and yarn, there may be 6 or 7.

- if the base is flat, crochet in a circle with increases: in the first row - two stitches in each stitch of the previous row, in the second row - in every second stitch, in the third - in every third stitch, and so on, until the diameter reaches approximately 18 cm. The circumference of this circle will be the size of the head. The required size is determined by the formula 2"pi"R (pi=3.14, R-radius of the base).

- then the hat is crocheted down without increases for about 14 cm (determined individually). To make the hat fit snugly to the head, in the last third of the fabric, we make decreases: evenly 8 stitches in every second row 2 times.

The bobbles on the fabric are made like this:

two chain stitches for lifting, a half double crochet in the next stitch of the lower row, * two chain stitches. Then in the gap formed between the two chain stitches for lifting and the half double crochet, make a puff stitch from five to seven stitches; skip two stitches from the previous row, in the third make a half double crochet. Repeat from *. But now we crochet the puff stitch simply by wrapping around the just made half double crochet.

In the next row, we crochet single crochets (in each arch of two chain stitches that precede the puff stitch - three single crochets). The second and third rows are also crocheted with single crochets. Then - again bobbles

If we crochet the hat in the shape of a cap, the diameter of the base will be approximately 11 cm. Then we alternate between 1 row with increases and one without increases. But in any case, each time the hat must be tried on. There are only fundamental formulas, and each new item will bring its own adjustments.
