Please note that the fastening of the motifs is different. Vertically, the motifs are fastened at the arch, horizontally - edge to edge at the petal, and on the shoulders - also under the arch in all directions.
To ensure that the knitting is indeed continuous, you should start with the left lower back motif when looking at the product. Here I have drawn an arrow
Now let's return to the diagram. Explanations:
1. If you knit the first (left lower) motif according to the diagram, after finishing the second row, you will end up in the gap between the petals. And to move to the next row, you need to crochet half of the petal, which is an unnecessary thickening for us. Therefore, I propose a little trick. Start the first motif with a chain of 10 air stitches (marked in black on the diagram) plus 6 for the center. Close the 6 stitches into a circle, knit 3 air stitches, attach in the fourth stitch of the chain. You get two chains together, which replace two columns. Then you leave the remaining chain of 6 stitches hanging on the right and knit the first row according to the diagram (yellow arrow). For the last arch of the first row, knit 5 stitches and close in the last stitch of the hanging chain (pink arrow). You find yourself in the middle of the petal, from where it will be convenient to move to the last row.
2. In the last row of the first motif, you knit two ears according to the blue arrow. Closing the chain of the last ear in the middle of the petal, move on to the next motif. The transition chain is marked in dark blue. For the transition chain, knit 9 air stitches - half of the arch of the first and second motifs (on the diagram - like the letter P between the motifs) plus 15 stitches and plus 6 stitches for the center. Knit the first row of the second motif as you did with the first motif - three air stitches, attach in the fourth stitch of the chain, then follow the yellow arrow, for the last arch of the first row, knit 5 stitches, attach in the sixth stitch of the chain (pink arrow). Then again leave the chain hanging on the right and crochet the petals with columns according to the yellow arrow. You knit half of the last petal like this - after crocheting all the columns, you knit one stitch (pink arrow) and attach it to the second stitch of the chain. Then knit 4 stitches and attach according to the green arrow in the fifth stitch of the arch of the previous motif. In this way, your motifs will be connected with 9 air stitches (the letter P). Then continue knitting according to the blue arrow, attach the ear - according to the green arrow, then again according to the blue. Then move on to the next motif. Continue this way for 8 motifs.
3. Knit the last row of the eighth motif according to the orange arrow. After crocheting the second ear, knit 4 air stitches and attach in the middle of the letter P. Then again 4 stitches, half an ear, attachment to the previous ear (green arrow). And so, following the orange arrow, you complete the upper part of the motifs to the first motif. Knit to the point where the orange arrow ends. Then, according to the bright red arrow, move to the second row of motifs. Please note that the number of stitches in the transition chain between rows will be less than along the motifs, as the attachment between rows will be edge to edge. Here for the transition chain, you cast on 15 air stitches and knit as before. Only in the last row do you knit one ear according to the burgundy arrow, not forgetting to attach it to the lower motifs (green arrow). Then again move on to the next motif (bright red arrow - transition chain). Knit just like in the first row, only in the second row you also crochet the attachments to the lower motifs (green arrows). Only in the fourth motif of the second row, the attachments will differ (marked with blue arrows) - under the arch. In the fifth motif, the attachments will be like in the fourth. The other three motifs - as the first three.
4. Return along the purple arrow, not forgetting to crochet the attachments.
5. Then knit two rows of four motifs each, and in the fourth motif in both cases crochet the attachments under the arch. Then knit two more rows of 8 motifs (in the fourth and fifth motifs, the attachments are under the arch).
6. Turn the knitting 90 degrees and finish the left edge according to the brown arrow (on the left side of the diagram)..
