From my mother's old knitting album (Martynenko I. P., I think, from 1971) I once copied a pattern that no one knits anymore. The album has been reissued, there are later versions, but that white blouse with a stand-up collar has not been repeated. I am rewriting it for you, girls!

Description. Attention! I provide the description from the album, but practice shows that at the end of the rows it is necessary to make not single crochet stitches, but double crochet stitches for lifting, so that the row does not narrow at the end, but retains a flat shape (see my instructions in parentheses).

Pattern «air»
(number of stitches is a multiple of 2)

Sample: 16 stitches.
Row 1: 1 sc in the second stitch from the hook, *2 ch, skip 1 stitch, 1 sc in the next stitch*

Row 2: 3 ch, 1 dc over the single crochet of the previous row, skip the «arch» of 2 ch, 1 ch *in the next «arch» of 2 ch make a «flower» of 7 elongated stitches up to 1 cm, make the 7th stitch a little lower, insert the hook into it and pull out a stitch for the second «flower», skip the «arch» of 2 ch* 2 dc in the last stitch (better 1 dc with 2 yarn overs – post author).

Row 3: 3 ch, 1 dc over the 2nd dc *3 pulls over the 3 long stitches of the «flower», 2 ch, 3 pulls over the next 3 long stitches of the «flower»*, 2 dc in the last stitch (better 1 dc with 2 yarn overs – post author).

Row 4: 3 ch, 1 dc over the 2nd dc *in the «arch» of 2 ch in the middle of the «flower» make a «flower» of 7 elongated stitches, make the 7th stitch a little lower, insert the hook into it and pull out a stitch for the second «flower», from the middle of the nearest «flower»*, 2 dc in the last stitch (better 1 dc with 2 yarn overs – post author).

Row 5: repeat from row 3.

I knitted a sample with 32 stitches; for each possibly unclear moment, I made step-by-step photographs.
Let's start!



Universal «Crystal» and favorite «Clover».



For the sample, we cast on a chain of 32 ch.



Row 1: 1 sc in the second stitch from the hook,



*2 ch, skip 1 stitch, 1 sc in the next stitch*



Repeat from asterisk *to asterisk* until the end of the row, as a result, there should be a row of beautiful «windows».


Row 2: 3 ch



1 dc over the single crochet of the previous row,



skip the «arch» of 2 ch, 1 ch *in the next «arch» of 2 ch make a «flower» of 7 elongated stitches of 1 cm long, (depending on the yarn, it can be up to 1.5 cm – post author);



align all 7 subsequent stitches with the first stitch.



Make the 7th stitch a little smaller in size, insert the hook into it and through this stitch...



and through this stitch... pull out a stitch for the second «flower» from the next arch, skipping the previous «arch» of 2 ch*



Repeat from asterisk *to asterisk* until the end of the row, at the end of the row make 2 dc in the last stitch (better 1 dc with 2 yarn overs – post author)



As a result, there will be a row with open stitches. No panic! Even from silk yarn, they do not «flow» and do not unravel! Even if you have a row length of 1 meter...



Row 3: 3 ch, 1 dc over the 2nd dc of the previous row;



*3 pulls over the 3 long stitches of the «flower»,


2 ch, 3 pulls over the next 3 long stitches of the «flower»*



Repeat from asterisk *to asterisk* until the end of the row,



2 dc in the last stitch (better 1 dc with 2 yarn overs – post author).
As a result, there should be a beautiful lace with notches at the places of 2 ch in the center of each «flower».



Row 4: 3 ch, 1 dc over the 2nd dc of the previous row;



*in the «arch» of 2 ch in the middle of the «flower» knit the first long stitch,



make a «flower» of 7 elongated stitches, make the 7th stitch a little lower, insert the hook into it and pull out a stitch for the second «flower», from the middle of the nearest «flower»*

Knitting instructions

Back

We start knitting from the shoulder seam of the back. We knit from top to bottom (it's easier to control the length of the garment) according to the pattern scheme.
1 square = 1 «flower» of the pattern.

We knit the back to the end of the armhole and leave it.

Front

From the shoulder seam of the back, into the same arches where the «flowers» of the back are knitted, we knit «flowers» of the front, so as not to cast on again and not make a rough shoulder seam for such a delicate pattern.

We knit according to the scheme, we start making the first increase along the armhole line in the 9th row of "flowers" (it is advisable to knit both the right and left parts at the same time, do not forget to connect the armhole in time), continue to the end of the armhole, then connect together and continue knitting in circular rows without a seam.

Immediately after connecting the front and back, we make darts with unknitted rows (we knit the central part, and the sides, gradually reducing the height of the elongated stitches, we bring to naught). The dart – 2 rows of «flowers» is enough for size 44/46.

We knit even rows to the end; in the last three rows, we can make increases to widen the bottom.

We finish along the armhole line and along the bottom with «picot»: 3 single crochets, 3-4 chains.

Frill

On the front part along the frill line from the shoulder seam, across the front part, to the second shoulder seam, we knit chains of 6-7 chains, attaching the chains to the middle of the base of the «flower»; we finish them with picot – 3 single crochets, 4 chains; after that, into each «picot» we knit a «flower» of elongated stitches, closing the stitches with pulls, we finish them with picot – 3 single crochets, 3-4 chains.

Sleeve

We also knit the sleeve from top to bottom.

We determine the shoulder line - the connection of the back and front. This line will become the center of the top of the sleeve cap. Moving equal distances from the center, we start attaching the sleeve.

We knit 4 «flowers» directly on the sleeve cap line, using the edge stitches as the first row. Then we knit according to the scheme, adding the corresponding number of «flowers» or «half-flowers» to the right and left, during the work we connect the sleeve with the armhole. It is advisable to knit both sleeves at the same time.

We reach the end of the armhole, connect the sleeve, and then knit in circular rows to the end. The last 3 rows are not connected, so that there is a slit.

According to the pattern scheme, we knit the frill on the sleeve: one «flower» on each «flower» of the previous row and one more «flower» between them.

We finish the frill along the edge with «picot»: 3 single crochets, 3-4 chains.
