Booties crocheted

Crocheting baby booties is much easier and faster than using knitting needles. Why? Because: it is more convenient (booties are usually knitted with three or four needles, while a hook only requires one for work only one is needed); it is easier to adjust the work to the desired size and style while crocheting; there are wider possibilities for realizing the crocheter's fantasies. If you have decided to learn how to crochet booties, you need to familiarize yourself with some basic aspects of this work. It is better to start crocheting from the sole. Booties consist of two parts: the sole and the upper part. Most often, the crocheting of the sole smoothly and seamlessly transitions into the work on the upper part, less often — the two parts are knitted separately and then sewn together. The sole is always started from the middle (a chain of a certain number of stitches is crocheted in a circle, increasing the number at the heel and the toe). The shape of the sole can be simply oval or pear-shaped. For newborns, it is easier and preferable to knit booties with an oval shape. For children from 5-6 months, when babies are already being tried to stand on their feet, or closer to a year, it is better to knit the sole in a pear shape. For those making their first steps, the sole is reinforced with heat-adhesive lining. The size of the booties is easily adjusted by the thickness of the thread and the hook. ??How to crochet booties? Step-by-step guide: Materials: soft yarn (cotton or acrylic); a hook of the appropriate size; two buttons. Abbreviations: Ch — chain stitch; Sl — slip stitch; Sc — single crochet; Hdc — half double crochet; Dc — double crochet; Dec — decrease with single crochets (two single crochets together); Dec2 — decrease with double crochets. ? The beginning work. ? Sole. We knit the sole according to the following scheme (pear-shaped version of the sole): Crochet a chain of 11 Ch. Row 1: Sc in the second stitch from the hook and in the next five stitches. In the next three stitches, do one Hdc each, 7 Hdc in the last stitch. Then crochet along the reverse side of the chain: 3 Hdc, 5 Sc, 4 Sc in the last (first) stitch, Sl in the first Sc (28 stitches). Row 2: 1 Ch, Sc in the same stitch, 1 Sc in the next 7 stitches, 1 Hdc, 2 Hdc 3 times, 3 Hdc (in one stitch), 2 Hdc 3 times, 1 Hdc, 8 times 1 Sc, 3 times 2 Sc, Sl in the first stitch (39 stitches). ? Upper part of the booties. Row 3: 1 Ch; crochet in the back loop — Sc in a circle, Sl in the first stitch (39 stitches). Rows 4-5: 1 Ch, Sc in a circle, Sl in the first stitch (39 stitches). Row 6: 1 Ch, Sc in the same stitch, Sc 9 times, Dec, Dec2, Dc, 3 Dc together, Dc, Dec2, Dec, Sc to the end of the row, Sl in the first stitch (33 stitches). Row 7: 1 Ch, Sc in the same stitch, Sc 7 times, Dec, Dec2, 3 Dc together, Dec2, Dec, Sc to the end of the row, Sl in the first stitch (27 stitches). Row 8: 1 Ch, Sc in the same stitch, Sc 5 times, Dec, Dc, 3 Dc together, Dc, Dec, Sc to the end, Sl in the first stitch (23 stitches). ? Cuffs: for the right bootie attach the yarn to the 7th stitch, for the left to the 11th stitch, crochet 12 Ch. ? We crochet the cuffs: Row 1: Hdc in the 3rd stitch from the hook, 2 Ch, Hdc in the next 9 stitches, Hdc in the first stitch (the one to which you attached the yarn), Hdc 19 times (there will be 3 stitches left), skip 2 stitches, Sc in the last stitch (32 stitches). Row 2: 2 Ch (counted as Hdc), turn work, Hdc in the first and next 28 stitches, 1 Ch, skip one Hdc, Hdc in the last 2 stitches (31 stitches with one hole). Row 3: 2 Ch (counted as Hdc), turn, Hdc, Hdc in the hole, Hdc to the end of the row (32). Row 4 "ruffles" (for a girl): turn, in the second stitch 5 Dc, * skip 1 Hdc, 1 Sc, skip 1 Hdc, 5 Dc in the next *, repeat around (8 ruffles), secure the yarn and cut. Row 4 (for a boy): turn, 2 Ch, the whole row with single crochets, secure the yarn and cut. Sew a button on the side in the desired place. The crocheted booties are ready!
