Fresh Quince

Materials:

• Yarn: 100 g of yellow yarn (100% acrylic, 330 m/100 g)

• Leftover purple and white yarn

• Buttons – 3 pcs

• Needles No. 2 and No. 2.5

• Hook No. 2

Knitting Density:

10 × 10 cm = 27 sts. × 42 rows.

Patterns:

• Ribbing 1×1 (garter stitch)

• Stockinette stitch

• Fancy pattern (charts 1 and 2)

• Placket — garter stitch

Work Description:

Back Piece:

• On needles No. 2.5 cast on 126 sts.

• Knit 1.5 cm in ribbing 1×1, then switch to stockinette stitch.

• After 5 cm — start the fancy pattern according to the chart.

• At a height of 18 cm — bind off stitches for the armholes.

• At a height of 26 cm — bind off 28 sts on each side and 26 sts — for the neckline.

Front Piece:

• Knit similarly to the back, but with a neckline:

  • At a height of 23 cm — bind off the central 12 sts.

  • Then decrease at the edges of the neckline 1×3, 1×2, 3×1.

Sleeves:

• Cast on 54 sts on needles No. 2.5.

• Knit 1.5 cm in ribbing, then in stockinette stitch.

• Make increases at the edges: a total of up to 86 sts.

• At a height of 17 cm — bind off for the cap.

Assembly:

• Sew the shoulder and side seams.

• Set in the sleeves.

• Along the neckline, pick up 78 sts and knit 3 cm in garter stitch.

• Crochet a flower and sew on the buttons.

Charts:

• There are 2 charts for the fancy pattern and patterns for the parts of the item: back, front, sleeve, collar.

After 3 cm, bind off the remaining 2 sts.
Resume knitting the remaining 35 sts and knit symmetrically to the left part.

Sleeves

On needles No. 2.5 cast on 43 sts, knit 1.5 cm in double ribbing and evenly increase 8 purl sts = 51 sts.
Continue with needles No. 3 in stockinette stitch.

At a height of 4 cm from the start of knitting for the cap, bind off:

• 2 sts from each side,

• then in every 2nd row, skipping 2 sts from the edge — 17 times 1 st.,

• bind off the remaining 9 sts.

Collar

Knit 2 pieces.
On needles No. 3 cast on 38 sts and knit 1.5 cm in garter stitch.
Then knit the first and last 5 sts in garter stitch, and the middle 28 sts — in stockinette stitch.

At a height of 6.5 cm knit 1 cm in purl stitch, evenly decrease 10 sts and place the remaining sts on a holder.

Assembly

• Along the edge of each shoulder seam, pick up 43 sts, knit in ribbing 1×1 and bind off according to the pattern.

• Simultaneously, in the 3rd row, make a buttonhole (2 sts together, 1 yarn over) in the middle of the right placket.

• Set in the sleeves into the armholes.

• Along the edge of the neckline, pick up all sts, including 7 sts from the plackets = 79 sts.

• Continue knitting the plackets as described above, knitting the central 65 sts: 6 rows in stockinette stitch, 1 row in purl, then continue for 1.5 cm and bind off all sts.

• Sew both collar pieces, leaving 7 sts free on the plackets and the central 7 sts of the back neckline.

Sew on the buttons, steam the item, moisten it and let it dry.
