Sweater "Rainbow Glow"

The effect of rainbow glow is achieved not only by using colorful yarn but also with the expressive pattern that this sweater is knitted with.

Sweater size: for ages 2—3 years.

For knitting you will need: 160 g of yarn in various colors (50% acrylic, 25% wool, 25% mohair; 120 m/50 g), needles No. 3 and 3.5.

Knit density of the sweater: 10?10 = 25 sts x 30 rows.

Knit the pattern using the needle according to the scheme.

Front of the sweater: using burgundy yarn on needles No. 3, cast on 76 sts and knit 5 cm in 1 x 1 ribbing. In the last row of the ribbing, evenly increase by 7 sts. Then knit with light blue yarn on needles No. 3.5. In the next purl row, knit purl sts. From the next knit row, knit as follows: 1 selvedge st, repeat the pattern rapport according to the scheme 4 times, last st of the pattern, 1 selvedge st. Knit with light blue yarn until the 11th row, then alternate colors every 12 rows. For the neck opening at a height of 32 cm, bind off the central 19 sts, then bind off 3 sts from each side, 2 sts and 2 times 1 st. At a height of 36 cm, bind off the sts.

Back of the sweater: knit as for the front. For the neck opening, bind off the central 29 sts 3 cm higher than for the front, then bind off 2 sts from each side and bind off the sts at the height of the front.

Sleeves: using burgundy yarn on needles No. 3, cast on 36 sts and knit 4 cm in 1 x 1 ribbing. In the last row of the ribbing, evenly increase by 7 sts. Then knit with light blue yarn on needles No. 3.5. In the next purl row, knit purl sts. From the next knit row, knit as follows: 1 selvedge st, repeat the pattern rapport according to the scheme 2 times, last st of the pattern, 1 selvedge st. Knit with light blue yarn until the 11th row, then alternate colors every 12 rows. Knit the pattern 7 times in height and bind off the sts. For the slopes, increase from both sides in every 4th row 16 times by 1 st.

Assembling the sweater: sew the seams. For the neckband, using burgundy yarn on needles No. 3, cast on 96 sts, knit 2.5 cm in 1 x 1 ribbing and bind off the sts. Sew the band along the edge of the neck opening.
