Sweater with braids for a boy for height 110 cm.
Yarn Nako Bambino in 2 strands, used 11.5 skeins, needles 3.5 and 4.5.
Special abbreviations:
6-st rc: leave 3 sts on a spare needle behind work, knit 3 sts, then knit 3 sts from spare needle
6-st lc: leave 3 sts on a spare needle in front of work, knit 3 sts, then knit 3 sts from spare needle
ribbing 2*2: alternate knitting 2 knit, 2 purl sts.
Seed stitch: knit 1 knit 1 purl to the end of the row, on the wrong side of the work knit 2 knit, *1 purl, 1 knit repeat from * to the end of the row
Back I start knitting with ribbing 2*2, for this I cast on 74 stitches on 3.5 needles and knit 5 cm of ribbing. In the last row of ribbing, I evenly increase 8 stitches, resulting in 82 sts.
Next, I knit with 4.5 needles. I knit 8 sts in seed stitch, then 10 sts according to pattern 1, repeat the 8-st pattern from the same scheme, 30 sts according to pattern 2, 10 sts according to pattern 3, repeat the pattern from scheme 3 one more time, 8 sts in seed stitch. Continue knitting according to patterns 1, 2, and 3.
At a height of 37 cm for the armhole cut, I close 4 stitches on each side and continue knitting according to the patterns on 74 stitches until a height of 43 cm. I begin to form the neckline and shoulder slope, for this I knit short rows: knitting 28 stitches according to the pattern, turn, make a yarn over, knit back 22 sts according to the pattern, turn the work, yarn over, knit 20 sts, turn, yarn over, knit 9 sts, turn, yarn over, knit 7 sts, turn, yarn over, knit the shoulder stitches to the end, combining the yarn overs with the adjacent stitch, close the shoulder, knit the remaining stitches to the end of the row, remembering to knit the yarn over with the next stitch. I knit the second half similarly.
Front I knit similarly to the back until a height of 40 cm. I start to form the neckline, for this I knit short rows: knitting 32 stitches according to the pattern, turn, make a yarn over, knit back 32 sts according to the pattern, knit 30 sts, turn, yarn over, knit 30 sts, knit 28 sts, turn yarn over, knit 28 sts, knit 27 sts, turn, yarn over, knit 27 sts, knit 26 sts, turn yarn over, knit 26 sts, knit 25 sts, turn, yarn over, knit 25 sts, knit 25 sts, turn yarn over, knit 19 sts (starting the shoulder slope), turn, yarn over, knit 18 sts, turn, yarn over, knit 7 sts, turn, yarn over, knit 7 sts, turn, yarn over, knit the shoulder stitches to the end, combining the yarn overs with the adjacent stitch, close the shoulder, knit the remaining stitches to the end of the row, remembering to knit the yarn over with the next stitch. I knit the second half similarly.
Thus, we have closed the stitches on the shoulders, and the stitches for the neckline are open. I put them on a 3.5 needle and knit ribbing 2*2 for about 12 cm, closing the neck. You can knit on circular needles to avoid seams.
I sew the shoulder seams and the neck seam.
Next, along the armhole line for the sleeve, I cast on 62 stitches on 4.5 needles on the front side. I knit seed stitch for 18 sts, 2 knit, 6 purl, 2 knit, 6 purl, 2 knit, 6 purl, 2 knit, 18 sts in seed stitch. The wrong side row is knitted according to the pattern. The next row is knit 18 sts in seed stitch, then 10 sts according to pattern 1, then repeat the 8-st pattern from scheme 1 2 times, 18 sts in seed stitch. Thus, there should be 3 braids on the sleeve.
Every 5 cm of the sleeve, decrease 1 stitch from each side, until there are 52 stitches left. After 31 cm of knitting the sleeve, we proceed to knit the cuff. For this, we take 3.5 needles and knit ribbing 2*2, in the first row of ribbing we need to evenly decrease 18 stitches, then knit 5 cm of ribbing 2*2 on 34 stitches. Close the sleeve.
The second sleeve is knitted similarly, only the braids are knitted according to scheme 3.
We sew the seams of the sleeves and the side seams.
