In Fig. 59, the raglan line is shown, made from purl stitches, with yarn overs placed on both sides. Due to the yarn overs, a zigzag insertion pattern is formed.

In Fig. 60, the raglan line is decorated with a wide lace strip. When calculating, you need to consider the number of stitches for the raglan line. In this case, it consists of 11 stitches.

RAGLAN WITH SHIFTED LINES

The raglan lines can be moved to the center of the front, the center of the back, and the center lines of the sleeves. Increases are also placed symmetrically relative to the center lines. In this case, you get not 2 symmetrical parts, but 2 halves of the back and 2 halves of the front (Fig. 61). The calculation of such a piece is performed as follows:

Determine the number of stitches for the neckline. For example, the neckline is 42 cm, the number of stitches is 88. Divide the total number of stitches by 4. Each part has 22 stitches. Add 1 stitch for the raglan line, a total of 4 stitches. The back and front have 22 stitches each, and each sleeve has 22 stitches. This marking is conditional. Move the raglan lines to the center of the front, the back, and the center of the sleeves. This marking will look like this: for the front—11 stitches + 1 raglan line stitch + 11 stitches, same for the back, and for each sleeve—11 stitches + 1 raglan line stitch + 11 stitches. Mark the raglan lines with markers.

Cast on 88 stitches and join in the round.
Row 1: knit stitches.
Row 2: knit stitches, making increases along the raglan line.
Make increases in every second row, knitting 1 stitch and making a yarn over on both sides of the raglan line.

When all the neckline stitches have been incorporated into the work, continue knitting in the round along the same raglan lines and with the same yarn overs. Then continue knitting in the chosen pattern (sample 42).
